Just a heads-up for anyone scratching their heads over lag, disconnects, or weird latency spikes after the 2.1.1 patch (and the hotfixes that have followed).
There’s a massive routing issue affecting players in several Nordic countries—Denmark is confirmed, but it’s likely impacting other parts of Europe too. Players are reporting unusually high ping and unstable connections, making the game borderline unplayable for many.
What to look out for:
- Sudden increases in latency
- Frequent disconnects or rubberbanding
- Stable internet elsewhere but issues only in-game
What can you do?
Unfortunately, this seems to be on Blizzard’s end, not your ISP—the only confirmed workaround is to use a VPN set to an unaffected country, which fixes the routing issue but comes with a slight to high increase in your ping depending on the distance.
No official word from Blizzard.

I can 100% confirm this for Denmark and have been communicating with another Dane who is also having issues. I am experiencing this issue in World of Warcraft as well.
Eastern Europe the same. This week just awful, especially into the Pit. Everytime when i see a new Blizz’s patch and “improvements” in the description i wait a trick.
disconnecting a lot also. to the point that i avoid party, which doesn’t help my progression much.
Also 100% confirm that Denmark is heavily affected…
Overwatch, D3 and D4 is mostly unplayable.
