Put changes in seasonal realm not eternal realm

To make things clear: I am not interest in playing seasonal. On diablo 3 i always played the same character. With the same build. Hack and slash some dungeons. Continue with life. For me this is fun.

Here is a idea: Why not patch the changes ONLY in seasonal. You only had to wait 2 more days? Patching the changes in seasonal and let the eternal players just keep playing with the build they have? What would that hurt?

I have been grinding, literally gridning! To perfect my build. It is still far from perfect but after obtaining the aspect (Restore [4-4] resource of your Primary Resource) which took over 200 hours to find! I did a Tier 62 guulrahn slums. It still was challenging since 59 was my max solo record. I wasn’t following a specific build. But…

Now with the changes the grind dont even feel worth it. I grinded 4-6 hours a day! (while still having fun partying up with randoms, playing with friends)

After trying the new patch i just get one shotted on my druid with the tier 62 dungeon…

I guess it’s time to game hop agian…

That’s not a bad idea, especially since they have already said the season mechanics will not carry over after the season is done.

IMO this is unprecedented and the only reason I can think of that they propagated these massive changes to eternal is that they want to force people to play with their new season because it supports their business model. As you alluded to, there is no good reason to make all of these changes to eternal.

Thank you for liking the idea. Me being realistic, I doubt it will noticed by the devs. Or changed. I had to get this off my chest

Seems like a good effective business model. Forcing does not really sound appealing at all. Sure I will watch steams of people play it. But it is just not my cup of tea. Massive game breaking mechanics needs adjustments! Not making changes because a handfull of skillfull players are dealing insane amount of damage.
