I’ve encountered a lot of quests with missing NPCs. They are usually the ones I have to talk to them out in the fields, but once I leave the town, the quest mark disappears and the NPC is not there. The quest mark shows back up again after going back to town, but it disappears again when I leave, and the NPC is not at the marked location. By going in and out of town can sometimes fix this issue, but it’s purely luck based on how many tries I have to do. This is happening to multiple quests, one of them is speak to Locran.

Been having the same issue. Can’t even be bothered to do the side quests because, as you stated, the quest marker disappears, the NPC you need to interact with is gone. Very frustrating.

I am experiencing the same issue here, as well. At least 2 quests so far cannot be completed, such as “By Three They Come” and “A Price To Pay.” Have not encountered this issue for these same quests in previous seasons.

Same issue with new season. Never had this happen before but now it happens more often than not. Cmon blizzard let us know what’s up.

I’ve encountered this issue more than four times, and it seems weird. I see a lot of bugs. Why doesn’t Blizzard fix them?
same is happening right now too, can’t find any way to fix it frustrating cause I wanted to finish renown.
I encountered this today. Try disabling cross network play. I did this and the NPCs started appearing properly.

I got the same problem with a few quests. That makes the region progress for paragon very frustrating.

I’ve the same issue in season 5 PC and Xbox german version , very disappointed, please fix it Blizzard.
Blizzard, fix this!! What the hell!?!? As a completionist, this takes every single bit of wind out of my sails and makes me not want to play the game at all.
I got the exact same issue. It is rather annoying. Cannot recall having seen it before the patch that came out recently, but I am not sure. I just tested it a bit more, and it looks like the NPC you need to talk disappear shortly after entering the zone, e.g. Aneta in the a quest line “A Price To Pay” after fetching the 8 venom from the dungeon next to her. She disappears shortly after entering the Fethis Wetlands.

Same issue here. Cannot complete side quests. Npc just not there. Very annoying
Still a problem. It’s even worse now. Entire villages and camps are missing all of the NPCs.

Just read on Reddit to turn off Cross-Network Play. It is under Options/Connect. I see this particular NPC now after nothing was bringing this one back, even closing for hours. I’ll update this if it doesn’t work, but if there is no reply after a couple of hours, then that’s it. It’s 7:16 CT on 9/8
EDIT: Well, couple turns in later and nope. NPC disappeared on me. Argh.
This is ridulouse. This is the farthest I have made it so far in any of the seasons, I’m trying to max rep for the paragon points, I was having the most fun yet (other then og eternal campaign) and wow way to ruin it with this bug.
It’s still happening as of September. Lets hope it get fixed when season 6 starts.
