Hello everybody.
I have a question regarding Season 6 / VOH because I did not find any information about this matter anywhere.
All I found out is that we will need to complete Nightmare Dungeons for Masterworking materials and The Pit for glyph experience.
So, my question is, at the start of Season 6 / VOH - will we get to keep the collected Masterworking materials (Obducite, Ingolith , Neathiron) which we collected until now (pre-VOH) - OR - will we lose them / reset - OR - will we be forced to convert them at the start of the new Season / expansion in something else ?
I would like to know this info before the start of the new Season / expansion because I don’t want to waste my time collecting materials now and just to find out after that what I farmed gets nullified.

I guess it will be the same case as with Varshan summoning materials. They will add possibility to exchange old materials with one of the vendors.
But it’s my GUESS ONLY, based on how they did it previously. It’s very logical solution.
Also converting legacy mythics into the same mythic with 800 power level instead of 925 would have been a very logical solution
However…

I read that someone who was testing on the PTR had all of his Masterworking materials converted to Obducite.
So, if this is going to be the case, than there is no more need to play this game until the launch of Season6 / VOH since everything you do right now in Season 5 is pointless and will be useless soon.
Obducite is never going to be enough you know, it’s blizz rng we’re talking about here, if you start going trough hundreds of masterworking resets your obducite in gonna go down pretty dam fast
As far as it is now, obducite is the only masterworking material you need

Thank you for the info. There are a lot of things which do not appear in the patch notes and a lot of things which are not explained at all. I expect the forum to be full with new topics in the first 2 weeks after the VOH launch regarding different questions and issues, haha.

That’s exactly the problem, nobody knows for sure what is gonna happen, if you would be able to salvage legacy mythics for sparks in S6 (Since they would be lower tier than S6 mythics), what will happen to lingolith and naethiron and so on…
Everyone is just looking at PTR trying to figure out how is gonna end when patch goes live but, at the end of the day, we have ZERO feedback from blizz so we will never be 100% sure they won’t still change something and screw everyone up (Even more than we already are)
The only things they are more than glad talking about are new mounts, skins and other bs stuff you can buy…that’s all

But tell me guys, honestly - what are you doing in eternal realm? I made a break in PoE and i decided to level up one character in D4. It took me 5 days to get to the point where my lightning spear sorcerer has all items, masterworking, 21 lvl glyphs, Shako and Tyrael’s. I did Tier 8 infernal hordes, killed all tormented bosses and i killed echo of Lilith for the first time in my life. I have literally nothing to do except finding some more GA items. But why should i farm items anymore if i have already beaten the game? What’s the point of staying in eternal realm?
What are we doing? Farming for sparks, gold and mw materials because blizz is gonna turn all of our gear into trash once again with new patch. Finding GA items is useless atm since they’re all gonna be nerfed to 540 power level. I see less points on doing everything back from zero every single season, expecially quests and all that boring stuff tbh, if eternal is pointless seasonal is even more pointless imho

I really hope Blizzard won’t do this HUGE mistake by resetting the gear on the release of each new Patch or Season hereby forcing players to start from zero each time they decide so.
If Blizzard will take that path than I am sure that that will be the game’s downfall since nobody is willing or enjoying to invest a HUGE amount of time just to get their progress nullified on a regular basis or short period of time.
EDIT: I am referring to the Eternal realm players.
Well, that’s basically what they did before and already doing now
Yes, they can’t give anything new and for the third time or more, they make players start from the beginning. They don’t value players’ time, only their money. As soon as PoE 2 comes out, half of the Diablo audience will run away to it. With each new season, Blizzard does something that defies common sense. They break everything, trying to replace it with an even worse solution. The new patch is generally some kind of madness. The Season 6 test is the most boring test of all. Boring builds, boring activities, nothing new and a complete reset of all the efforts of players in the past. Resources, things, uber unique items, all this will turn into the dust of centuries. They can’t even make leaderboards to keep players in the hole. No one in their right mind would spend time on them for no reason.

No offence but this “resetting the gear thing” on the release of each new Patch or Season - is just an upright stupid decision - because it just defies the players time invested in the game showing no respect to those who bought the game and remained loyal to the franchise !
I get the idea of playing for fun and being excited for new things but in the last 2 Seasons there so many changes regarding the gear and items in a very short period of time that I couldn’t even fully upgrade my character and right now it is useless because in less than a month eveything will become worthless… AGAIN and we will have to start from scratch once more !
To be honeset, I don’t know what is in Blizzard’s mind because forcing all the players to change their entire gear once every 3 months is just cruel and not fun at all and this should be kept for Seasonal players only and not for Eternals as well.
I preffer to be an Eternal player just because I like playing when I have time and when I am not pressured by time or by anyone - BUT - in the current state where I need to hurry up to fully upgrade my character until the release of a new Patch or Season is not fun at all and only puts pressure on me and on all other Eternal players.

Blizz piss on us, they don’t care. But I am sure GGG will in PoE.

I understand you. It’s really hard when there’s real life in addition to the game.
I’ll tell you something else. Even when I devoted all my time to the game, in some seasons, I still didn’t have time)) A couple of seasons ago, I managed to get uber-unique items with great difficulty, and not all of them. Now it’s not a problem, but another progress reset upsets many. And not even the fact of it, but the fact that it’s a reset for the sake of resetting. That is, it is not logically justified in any way, except for resetting players just like that, so that they suffer longer in the new season and it seems to them that they paid so much money for a large amount of time spent in the game. Although in fact, there is almost no new content and all this is fiction and manipulation.

They are behaveing like they own us and give the cold shoulder.
As I look through forums I see people that are 100% pro Eternal and do nothing but trash Seasonal. And vise versa, people that are 100% seasonal and do nothing but trash eternal. I stayed on the Eternal realm until the currently active season, season 5. I was absolutely amazed at how much faster I leveled to max level under seasonal. And how much faster I got to a point I could do uber tor boss runs solo. Due to the in game trading and how unbelievably expensive stuff was trading for I managed to build up several billion in gold. Along with enough resplendant sparks that I’ll be able to easily start off the next patch with 12 ubers WITHOUT having to go farm. I truly believe there is a good place for both realms. After seeing how fast I leveled and farmed in seasonal, the only advantage I see to seasonal realm is to farm stuff for your eternal realm characters. If blizzard were to change their policies on seasonal and you get to keep everything you farm and obtain under seasonal in a seasonal queue and carry them over to the next season, then I’d be much more on the side of the fence that says go seasonal only. At this point in time, since with the start of each new season, you start out with absolutely nothing and at absolute zero… And all your stuff switches to your eternal realm storage… There really is no point to seasonal other than to farm for your eternal realm characters. Again seasonal would look so much better as a long term repeated thing if I got to keep my 200k obducite, 48 resplendant sparks, and 15 billion in gold. That’s small term mats in comparison to some. But it’s a heck of a good way to help out my eternal realm characters get a jump on things when patch 2.0 vessel of hatred goes live on October 8.
Obducite, Ingolith, Neathiron – now only Obducite remains (I think that’s the one), and the others can be replaced with Obducite. They will not be removed, if that’s what you’re asking.
Today, I have found deleted neathiron (almost 40k). It wasnt converted to obducite.
