Every season I find an unusual ore. That’s interesting: “unusual ore”. Must have something to do with blacksmithing, right? Why isn’t it -10% cost reduction at the blacksmith for this? Or u find the rare blue bird: +5% perma move speed, gz.
Have every single small sidequest provide some benefit. Not the ones u click a guy for but the ones randomly appearing. So if u want these bonuses, u gotta get out there. Not something super rare or mega important but small things to boost u. Like u found the radiant stone and got +1% allres. but for +2% fire u need to get something else.
Every season the quests reset and u run them again. What they give tho: 1457xp and 104 gold, thanks.
It could be cool to find an unusual ore to give the captain of the iron wolves encampment, and imo it can’t be that much to deal with + it does add a lot for everyone running about finding stuff.
I get what you are saying, but this game is about min/maxing, and a significant portion of the playerbase will kick and scream like spoiled children over something like this, You say its not mega important, but to some people that 0.001% difference is their whole world, and if they struggle with finding or obtaining it, the game is as good as dead to them. We saw this right from the start with Lilith statues, it didn’t take long for that to be changed into a once and done thing, because people hated it. I dont think adding more stuff like that will do the game any good.
shouldn’t be that big of a struggle. just a few regional bonuses u can, and probably should, pick up. u’ll get them just by playing anyway. can be targeted but doesn’t have to be and is just something extra. maybe not even to top u off, more to help u get top.
say it is one bonus for each region? then how many regions are there? like 30? 50? well… would be some time finding all that if it’s 50 but… yea, idk; maybe not a good idea. But still, the quests are ape-poop and i really think something should be done with them.
The way i see it, this game is not the same game the devs originally visioned, and side quests are remains of that original vision, the vision of a immersive story driven mmo hybrid, that nobody wanted. People wanted a arpg, a loot grinder, and D4 has become a arpg, side quests serve no purpose in games like that, its all about the loot grind.
yea well, i consider them part of the reward system. i encounter them every season so i figure why not make something from them? the scripting and acting has all been accomplished, it’s ripe to set a reward proper. if not something special, why not loot that’s relevant? i mean, that’s generic and like everything else but at least it would be something.
Cant argue with that, and yeah, you are right, the quests are already there, might aswell use them for something. I just dont think your original idea is the way to go. Something optional sure, something that can (and will) be concidered mandatory, no.

Great, we’re agreed. Don’t have to space too much on this, just make it a fun event through a sack of gold or a legendary cache unexpected.
