Refund my money

Since Diablo 4’s launch and ahead of the start of the game’s first season that’s scheduled to start mid-to-late July, many players have been asking whether or not each of Diablo 4’s seasons will require the creation of a new seasonal character to access them. The answer has been unclear for a while now, but thanks to a statement from Blizzard on Twitter, fans finally have an answer

It was obvious that they would do as with Diablo 3 and as with most games in the genre that have seasons.
This is why many players with PoE play a season for 1-2 months and then stop, waiting for the new season.
This is the way and that’s how it works.
Players play every Season with a “fresh” new content.
During that time they also spend money and Blizzard makes money.

EDIT: with World Of Warcraft there are seasons and many players level up a new class at the beginning of a new season, for various reasons (buffs, nerfs, new features and so on). You are not forced to do so but it could happen (it happen everytime) that your class, with the new features/buff/nerfs of the new season may be less performing than other classes.

What is the statement? For those who don’t have or don’t want to use twitter

As far as I know, seasons in Diablo have always required a new character to play them.

That statement is regarding the battle pass requiring a seasonal character to access.
This was not clear until now.
copied from Twitter:
yes to take part in the seasonal questline, mechanics, season journey and battle pass, you will need to create a new seasonal character. Playing campaign with seasonal character (if you so desire or need to finish) will also progress the season journey and battle pass.

Let’s be honest I don’t care if you want a refund or if they give you one or not, that tag line just reads as you throwing your toys out of the pram because they said seasons will work much like they do in Diablo 3. Something I would have assumed to start with unless they said otherwise.

Anyway Goodluck if you do actually ask for a refund and aren’t just doing the hissy fit on the forum thing.

People who thought they wouldn’t have to play the season for the “seasonal” battlepass deserve to lose their money…

Yep, same as people thinking you get a Diablo game just because Diablo is written on it

TBH I am confident everyone has understood the position for some time.

It was never unclear. It was always specifically stated.

How else would it work? It works just like diablo 3… You know, the previous game in their series.

It’s a 3 month “race” to see how much you can achieve and unlock.

It takes one night or 3 if you only have a few hours a night to hit 50.

You know the aspects and dungeons you want to farm.

You know which mobs you like fighting.

And you get to pick all of that from the get go.

It’s awesome fun and gives you chance to try all new builds every 3 months.

We are 2 weeks out and people are hitting 100…

There is no other way to do it. Keeping your level 100 from eternal realm would be so damn lame, did you even think your post through? :eyes:

Did you not pay attention during the end of the campaign? :smiling_imp:

No i missed it. Was busy shouting at fake deckard and my char why on earth they would not chase her. Beyond logic

Well, there you have it…

Lmao

No the answer has NEVER been unclear.

There was just a bunch of delusionnal players who for some random reason that I can’t personnally understand thought that seasons might stop working like seasons.

Every season, new character for season pass - Console Discussion - Diablo IV Forums

Rather weird litterally googling the words will i need to make a new character for seasons, it has been a ongoing topic since april on that thread and even earlier from interviews with several game review companies.

The answers never been unclear.

Seasons are a system brougut from d3 to d4, which demanded a new character with every season.

To demand a refund on the back of this is weak, saying that blizzard have given refunds pretty easily out regardless so u could be in luck.

Diablo 3 allowed you to “rebirth” characters for a season sense of continuity. However they have said that they don’t have the rebirth feature in Diablo 4, therefor if you want to play the same class during the season that you did the pre-season you’re expected to create a new identical character and delete the one you have been playing with, as having two when they are sent to the Eternal Realm at the end of the season is just wasting a slot. Plus playtime, monsters killed ect will not be tracked across multiple characters.

It’s crystal clear the game was very rushed towards the end of development to ensure they met the deadline of release. Rebirthing a character should not be a challenge for developers when they done it 10 years ago.

They don’t have the Rebirth feature yet, but they said they will monitor player feedback post launch.

You’re just repeating me in an attempt to correct me

Considering it or not, people who are main’ing a particular class will still need to create a new character like the one they have been playing for 6-8 weeks never existed for at least the first 2 seasons. (Keep in mind they are working a development/season cycle in advance, meaning that they are not willing to re-write/code seasons they have already, or are close to completing) That’s why the campfire stream was “season 2 for a fix or a QoL patch” because they are not re-coding, then re-submitting a season patch by patch to Sony and Microsoft to be allowed to keep the game on the store(s). That’s why it’s taking so long to push out critical updates that are not hotfixes, waiting for the 3rd party stores to approve the changes to the code they are liable for distributing and it’s also affecting PC because they update all the platforms at once to keep the same version on all the servers due to cross play.

It’s feeling more and more like that on day 1 the entire team was briefed on how this game will not turn out be to an extension of Diablo 3, and they have taken that instruction so seriously that they have purposely excluded features that were so basic and yet so convenient and then say they will monitor feedback and “might” add this later, it would be laughable if it was not such an avoidable annoyance.

headline to get attention and then post something different.
If you didn’t educate yourself, if with all the chatter in all the months leading up to D4’s release you never got around to looking into what the seasons look like and how they work, then you’re a complete fool.
Now getting to cry because you have no idea how a season works is pathetic.

and every consolero, who never heard of diablo before and to whoever never played diablo before. Many people did not know (even one of my casual friends did not know and he was mad about it, even when i explained why its normally a good thing)

The idea behind behind that is normally very good. It refreshes the economy + and refreshes your hunger for better loot. BUT in D4 there is no ecnomy, so well… and their leveling experience is so awful and the hunt for items kinda boring (because items are boring). So it does nothing here in its current state tbh…
