I’m unsure if this has been posted here, I tried to search but couldn’t find anything as it kept coming up with eternal → seasonal renown. I just made a new seasonal character to play with a friend to find out our renown doesn’t even carry over seasonal character - > seasonal character. This is beyond a joke to be honest.
I understand (only slightly) why they want the full renown not to carry over from eternal but if I’ve already cleared it on my new seasonal character why is it not available for the next one I make ?
Renown doesn’t carry from character to character. You still have to do all the side quests agains, unlock the strongholds, complete the dungeons, etc etc…
What you should keep is the account wide benefits for renown. Say seasonal character 1 unlocks level 3 renown (so 2 skill points) in each hold. seasonal character 2 should then start with 10 skill points, but need to unlock level 3 renown for that character. This means you’ll get the bonus gold and xp that comes with the renown levels.
… the skill points are the most basic things to check (I started my season with all areas and altars unlocked and only got level 2) as the paragon points rewarded at level 5 require you to get to level 50.
If you don’t get 10 skill points on the start of a new character (or however many you should get), then it is probably a bug. (I would consider it a bug, but blizzard… I don’t know)
I swapped character and swapped back and it seemed to give me the skill points. Sigh, the amount of issues that have happened so far is unreal.
Just started an alt too in season and learned this.
Can’t understand why. In the eternal relm the renown transfered from caracter to caracter. So why doesn’t it during season? As you said. Already done the grind. Wanted to level with a friend that just started playing and now I have to do all the grind again… that is stupid.
