RTX 2080 super Temperature

Hello, I don’t know if this is the right thread to post this, but I was wondering what’s the gpu temp you guys have while playing the game . I’m playing on High settings and hitting 83 degrees with my fans set for performance. I mostly play only WoW and I don’t know if these temps are concerning . Can you share some information please ?

That is fairly high, I suggest adjusting your Fan curves and/or turning some settings down in the game.

Diablo4 is a beast especially on high settings and certainly will but a lot more load on your card than WoW.

If your fans are already running on max I’d definitely turn some settings down if I was you or get better cooling.

what do you think should be some normal temps ? like 70 degrees?

I noticed my GPU heats and usage spikes when I am in npc’s UI (shops etc). It must be some kind of bug.

Yes 60 - 70 maybe up to 75 if you can’t keep it lower, certainly over 80 seems a bit too heigh for comfort, though as long as your card is working properly it will shut off before it damages itself, some folk with some of the defective 3080 had a real issue here as they actually fried their cards, none issue with some of those cards under stress though.

my card is working perfectly even at 83 degrees. No issues so far , it’s just the heating factor that concerns me. I’ve tried to go into MSI afterburner and do a test with fans at 80% all the time and case fans at extreme and temps are still around 75-77

Yes they are I believe investigating why inventory screens for example make the game more demanding while open on some cards. I think there was a thread about it last night but I can’t find it.

Things may improve when they track down some bugs and NVidia bring out some driver tweaks but for more stable play in the meantime I’d put my cooling to max and turn a few settings down for the time being if I was you. Doubt any optimisations and fixes here will happen overnight.

yes, I also noticed that now when I was salvaging some items. Normal fight outdoors, gpu at 70 degrees, and next to the npc doing nothing spikes to 80 ? lol

There does seem to be a massive variation in folks experiences. I run a mini ITX Mother Board setup so not a great deal of room for cooling - also running on High , 144FPS min with a low-end AMD 5600x, 32GB, SSD and RTX 3060 (12MB) … yet CPU is rock steady on 39C and GPU barely touches 50C.

Edit - I should add its all liquid cooled - but isn’t every PC nowadays? Built this Rigg for gamming as normally I am iMAC user which works better for multi media and photography stuff.

I have my CPU watercooled, but not my gpu. CPU is steady at 40 degrees no issues . GPU is the one screaming for its life ,haha

Turn off your NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency setting to OFF. This has worked like a charm for me and some of my friends. I hope it also helps you. I would also suggest capping the frames to your desired rate. I would suggest starting with 75 and going up from that.

Lol I have a mini-itx too with a 5600X but temperature is always around 80-85 (air cooled). XD
