Season reset solution

What really bothers me from the seasonal reset thingy is that i really grow attached to characters.

For me my character is my character. So if i make a Sorcerer. Thats THE Sorcerer.

If i am to do.

Sorcerer 1
Sorcerer 2
Sorcerer 3
Sorcerer 4
Sorcerer 5

etc…

It loses its value. So i have one simple yet effective solution. Give us at least the choice to persist the character resetting it like Call of Duty’s Paragon.

So the way it would work is.

You have Sorcerer 1 who is level 100. Season 1 launches.

You decide to either create Sorcerer 2 and begin with it as a new experience, OR you decide to reset Sorcerer 1.

But in exchange, you get a new cosmetic, something that cannot be bought. Maybe an aura (that of course other players can see), and this Aura or whatever looks better the more resets you do. This is similar to Call of Duty’s paragon, when you can decide to go for it for a better icon, deciding to reset, and foregoing your weapons.

Then obviously everything else the same, your Achievements, Altars, ability to skip campaign, everything is maintained.

There is a better option to just let character persist in between seasons without the need to relevel and regain power. BUT at the very minimum if you are stubborn about it.

This is at the very minimum a saving grace to let characters persist.

Now im open to ideas, but its gotta be something really cool. Probably the circle marker growing in different colors the more “resets” you have. Wings or something, i dunno. Wings probably a bad idea, tho.

(Characters need to put all gear in Stash before the reset)

They said they may consider adding a rebirth option later, we will see… in the mean time you can always create a new seasonal sorcerer with the same name  Then at season end you give the nice items you found to your original sorcerer, delete the ‘‘seasonal’’ sorcerer and repeat…

From a story perspective, you could create your own head-canon.

Your first Sorcerer is your beloved character. They live in the Eternal Realm (Santuary Prime, if you will). They exist as your Main. They are the one true Sorcerer.

Any seasonal Sorcerer thereafter is merely a version of your Main, existing within a series of alternate realities. At the end of each season, your Main absorbs the memories and experiences of their counterparts, thereby melding all characters into one.

I know it’s not a mechanical solution, but it would go some way towards appeasing your character attachment.

Thats lame, my sorcerer 2 would be “the clone”

character resetting it like Diablo 3…

They have such an easy fix to this, just add rebirth and its sorted.

I have a solution as well. Suck it up and rub some dirt on it…

It’s not a bad idea, although I would like something more meaningful, because besides the fact that I also get attached to my characters, I don’t like the fact that I have to literally start from scratch every season and re-level the character again. I neither like that nor have time for that.

One of the equally simple solutions is 2 seasonal worlds. In one everything works as planned, in the other we play with max lvl characters from ER with whom we would start the season with max lvl, with a completed campaign and with some basic gear. This other world would be perfect for players like me, for those of us who are limited by time and who get attached to our characters and yet want to play the seasonal content as much as we can.

This way there would be a choice for both groups of players and everyone would be able to choose what they prefer. Players who play seasons literally from scratch should definitely be given some unique reward at the end of the season to know that they put in the extra time and played the most demanding seasonal world.

I don’t think so. 2 worlds… on one network… that’s alot of bandwidth to share… it’ll have knockon problems. The simplest solution is you accept it, it wasn’t your decision anyway and either you play or you don’t.

I don’t think this is a big problem for a multi-billionaire company that already has a game for so many years that has about 180 servers.

Oh definitely. If the seasons remain as they are I will not play them and therefore will not buy the battle pass. If blizz thinks they don’t need to find a way for players like me and don’t have a problem with giving up big money then ok. I’m just giving an idea how we can all be satisfied, both groups of players and blizz.

From my perspective as Father and working person resetting character with all that hours you spend on to get that perfectly rolled items to make it stronger or to get perfect gear for PvP is just pointess, This will push many people away and D4 will be dead. Seasons should include new continents, new quests, mechanic etc extra If any of you played Lost Ark reaching and visiting Continents made a lot of sense it terms of end game Lost Ark have much more to offer even the Bosses mechanics are much more challenging.

Another solution would be handling like most modern games do.

Introduce horizontal progression. You keep your base level (lvl 50) and paragon levels resets each season.

Basically each season you level up new paragon boards using the new season mechanic and the battle pass, but you always keep your quest progress.

Simple solution: do.not play seasons.
or, if you want to spend your life farming from scratch each seadon… then go for it…

Or they could just implement rebirth which they introduced in D3. It is a far easier solution as they wouldn’t have to make any changes to how they want seasons to be played.

Saying don’t play season is such a non reply
