Just some thoughts as a casual player…
After 10 years on & off playing Diablo 3 I can safely say I am done with Seasons, but I’d like to enjoy the fun perks of a season which can often be the only thing that might bring some fun to the game. (EG cool new powers, game mechanics and gear).
Seasonal Characters should be for racing from 0 to the end-game and becoming the strongest / climbing the ladder. Nothing more.
“Seasonal Buffs, Mechanics & New Gear” should apply to the Eternal world (Non-season) if you switch it on. Let casual players enjoy their level 100 character that they’ve put all their time into shoot lasers from their eyes for the season. (Or whatever the seasonal buff / mechanic is). It’s not ranked, it’s not hurting anyone.
People still have the option of starting a character from scratch by creating a seasonal character, but perhaps give us the ability to withdraw a character from Seasonal at any point making it an Eternal character, should “starting from scratch” become tiresome.
Also, If a cosmetic is unlocked via climbing the ladder, make that a season-only cosmetic.
If a cosmetic is unlocked via achieving a stage of the game, give it to everyone (That has a battle pass). Who cares is the casual player gets those cool new boots a week before seasonal characters? We will never get that epic weapon for ranking 1st on the ladder!

If you have 10 years of D3 experience then you know how seasons work. Stop begging for free stuff, its beneath you.

Its not hard to realize that the battle pass will be tied to ladder
What?!
yeah if you’re first on the ladder you might be faster to clear the BP but what is this about?
Battlepass will be free for ppl who don’t wanna get the cosmetics.
Battle pass will probably look like the d3 season objectives, or just give you reward for clearing content.
It’ll be a layer of content on top of the game to create some incentive to do stuff you probably already do so… what is this, so many people crying again
and no the main goal is not to get to level 100. Never forget that.
The point is to create builds and have fun with the new legendaries/boards, theorycraft and strategies around your weaknesses

If they wish to continue giving new content only to seasonal players, then I continue NOT to participate. I want new stuff, mechanics, gear, content etc on my main.
Despite being Diablo fan since 1997 I skipped seasons in its entirety in D2, D3 and the same thing will happen in D4. If that is how it works, fine, no hard feelings I gave you my money, you got me the experience I enjoyed it for a while then it is time to move on. Simple as that. There are other options out there too.

maybe the most important new stuff that we currently know that we get from season 1 is the free stash tab which we need. Let’s see if they add a new class or new powers.
I suppose it’s a goodbye then in July! farewell my friend!
I did say 10 years on and off, I quit playing Diablo 3 years ago because it became boring as hell, after 10 years of Blizzard managing Diablo 3 I expected Diablo 4 to be different, I have explained how I feel it should be different.
If you want to play exactly the same game for multiple decades (Wow, boring!) you’ve come to the right place.

I think the seasons should be optional, in D3 the content was in the game, the seasons came years later.
On d4 it feels like the goal is just to level up, and it gets kind of boring to be doing that all the time.

I would honestly be surprised if there is 1 person who likes seasons. Just a money grab. Seasons should last 2 years each.
Wauw youre a big baby. We have known for a long time that seasons will be introduced. Since the majority of ppl want a fresh start.
If you played d3 then you would know that only a few ppl played non season, simply bc it gets boring just sitting around on a maxed out char.
If you want to play your main, then do that. But dont be an entitled brat
Well, there are people who defend that and call us casual. When they probably just want to level up over and over again as a group, like a competition of who comes first and that seems to be all they do. It seems they don’t enjoy the game, all they want to do is level up faster than others and do that every season.
Many of them call themselves hardcore, but they are the ones who need help to pass the bosses, need to be leveled up by another, look at build guides, need guides to find lilith statues, etc. Many of these people, I have seen that they have had to resort to others to pass the boss of world 3, because they themselves could not and they want to call us casual.
When many of those “casual”, level up by themselves, beat the bosses without help from others, etc.

I am doing what I want. I control the game, the game does not control me and you certainly are not able to tell me what to do, how to play or what to think.
You are entitled brat who can dump stupid amount of time to relive the same content and has no life, only babies can do that and ofc you can do that too.

You chose to play the eternal boring side of the game
You know why they going with seasons right? because it is a POPULAR and data shows them that
Diablo 3 was garbanzo outside of season and it was lot of fun when season started like 3 days of 100% fun after that it died out
Same thing happens to POE it is a lot of fun first few weeks unlike diablo3
Data shows that people like new begining new items new spells
eternal is cringe even if you give them new stuff because you are 100lvl for example
I understand someone wants to play his 100 character like you play your main character in wow for 20 years but this game was designed in nature to be seasonal
so stop crying about it and just start playing seasons
There are completely different problems this game have right now like lack of endgame material etc…
and you crynig about starting fresh in new season
All I see is people who likes the world of diablo but seems to be complete strangers to the evolution of the arpg genre. how? xD

The truth is this format is just not for me. I like the game, I really do, but seasons is not something for me. I like to have my char, lvl it up and enjoy powers, content and gameplay.
I can afford spending some time on one char when new title in the franchise is released and then check in every now and then, that is how I always played and I like this way. In D3 I could not enjoy seasonal content because I cannot spend too much time on the game and I don’t want to. There were situations in the past where I was reading what new was added but decided to not participate because the content would not apply to my main.
If I am happy with class mechanics I get attached to my main and I want to work on it indefinitely. Call it " sitting around on a maxed out char" if you want, but it is what I want to do.
With seasons you feel that you have to do something so it adds a bit of pressure too, while I just want to log in maybe for 30 min, choose what I want to do, fool around a bit, drink my tea, and be done with it.
There are others like me (my bros irl are like this too) and I think they might be alienated a bit.
I understand, that true fans want new challenges and relive the game over and over again and maybe add some competition to it, I get that, currently the seasons are for people like this, but there are definitely people like me too as it is currently evident on forums and on various other outlets. Blizzard might decide to leave matters as they are, and that is fine too, but alienating casuals or people who fall somewhere in the middle risks decreasing interest, losing on potential revenue and shrinking Diablo community.
I would think you want community as big as possible no matter how you play the game.

You chose to play the seasonal boring side of the game (see what I did here?)

Try it then speak, we’ll see when it drops, here are just suppositions about stuff you don’t even know.
And yes, the eternal realm has no point except to stack your characters after seasons.
Try it first, then see if it is of your taste or not.
I don’t know but you do? You know as much. I won’t try for one simple reason. I won’t be playing the game as much after few days, I know my playstyle. Like I said I will just check in every now and then.
I did my research and play arpg’s a lot.
Season will xp faster than regular realm (you can find screenshots of that if you search enough)
And once again, Level 100 is not the main goal, it’s not an mmo.
Main goal is to build a char with the new items/mechanics/patch and have fun with it
If you wanna MinMax then push, if you think you have to level to max to enjoy the game you might wanna rethink how you play.
The Only downside i see is eventually Renown, might wanna give some from every activity instead of selective ones.
