Will there be the possibility to play without the shared world later?
The atmosphere in the game is actually perfectly dark. Unfortunately, this is something that ruins the immersion for me. When you teleport back from a dungeon and the players pile up at the portal and the stores, it just looks terrible. I also find time events with special bossfights awful.
The story is about having special abilities and suggests unique abilities. It’s just stupid when you meet other unique characters in the world who do exactly the same… Please, I want to enjoy the game alone or with my friends and not an MMO game.
i dont this this is the case when you make semi/mmo game, you just decide if its mmo or not, they decided this way, you cant make everyone happy. This is the direction and it will be easier for them to follow it up
I would like pure single player mode too, the only thing it seems this wouldn’t work for is the world boss. The world boss 1 shot every player in sight every time he landed an attack, I can’t imagine this thing will be very soloable.
D4 seems to be a Lost Ark clone style MMO, but nowhere anywhere in any of the marketing for Diablo 4 have they mentioned anything about Diablo 4 being an MMO.
I dont need the World Boss Events. I don’t want to be forced to wait at a certain time with a bunch of other lunatics (myself included) for a monster to appear in the hope of surviving/good loot.
That’s alright, for you. I don’t want it forced on my gameplay and apparently a bunch of other people don’t like it either. I have no idea why you feel the need to deny other people a choice because you like having no choice.
They could make them soloable, I’m not sure what the best solution is on that front. I never had any interest in playing a Diablo MMO anyway and to be honest the game isn’t far from being a single player game.
It’s like a single player game where occasionally you see 1-2 players, which mostly just interferes with your game more than anything. The most you see players seems to be in town. Personally I just want a single player game, and even Blizzard seems wary of mentioning anything about it being an MMO because they know it would probably not be seen in a positive light.
Thing is, it’s not really a proper MMO and MMO’s come with certain expectations. So Blizzard has made an MMO that they are afraid to call an MMO for a playerbase that probably doesn’t want an MMO to begin with.

How is demanding a choice denying you the choice? You can still play it the way it is right now even if the other people in this thread decide to play solo.
i never seen mmo that can be played offline, its stupid idea, its either mmo or not. At the start of development you make a decision, they made it. Why would they now let people play offline if game is fully online semi/mmo. If you dont like it then stick to diablo 2/3
Because it actually sucks? The MMO implementation in D4 is just not good and D4 doesn’t need to be an MMO to work at all. It’s not a WoW where the content mostly consists of just multiplayer content.
It’s not an MMO it’s an ARPG. Small amount of players I personally don’t mind and they said that’s the goal, only a handful of players around you outside of cities. But if they cannot solve the lag and separate the players properly and non-intrusively then I’m for solo and coop separate play only.
Sure its beta (very very beta I might add) so they might fix the lag and disconnects but I would never ever try hardcore online like this ever.
