Please try to find a way to make this Diablo capable of playing straight single player as well. I was having so much fun playing, right up until other players were introduced. Right when that happened, there were dips in performance. Also, I found myself trying to move faster than the other players in order to fight some demons by myself. However, more often than not, I would be wondering around collecting gold and items from another players kills. I timed it. I went 4 minutes and 36 seconds without a fight and picking up gold before I ran into another pack. And it happened over and over again. This makes me not want to play. I am so incredibly disappointed about this. I have been playing ever since Diablo 1 and have anticipated every single release since. And this is the first time that I am disappointed. I sincerely hope that there can be a way to make it possible for single player alongside multiplayer. I know this is just my opinion and the game will sell either way. But I canât be the only one who feels this way. And I know it would make even more people happy. Anyway, just my two cents. Thank you.
You are far from being the only one who feels this way.
A quick glance at the forums shows multiple threads about this issue.
I feel exactly the same, Iâm not interested in playing with random people and this one singe thing really runins the game for me.
I really like everything else and if it wasnât for the shared MMO style aspect I would be pre ordering it.
I spent good few hours in the beta and having other people runing around adds nothing to the game, I didnât interact with anyone, nobody even tried to interact with me, I donât need or want other players to do any of the quests so why am i being forced to play with them ?
Having random people running around just ruins the game immersion and they only spoil the fun for me by killing the mobs I would like to fight on my own or butting into a middle of my fight where they are not wanted.
Diablo is a single player experiece for a lot of people and Diablo 4 absolutely needs a single player session same as Diablo 3 had.
Itâs really simple, keep the multiplayer as it is for people who want and enjoy it but give others option to play on their own.
Thereâs no excuse for not having this basic functinality.
This game shouldnât feel like a competition. But right now it does. Especially running from spot to spot at Kor Dragan, trying to get some 20+ Gear, feels very tedious and exhausting. All, just to find out someone cleared the spot already. Doesnât make fun at all.
Edit: I really love the Beta, donât get me wrong. But this part is very frustrating.
I thought everyone asking for single player was stupidâŚbut after playing the beta i can completely see why some people would want to not have other players in their world ESPECIALLY FOR COLLECTION QUESTS IMO BLIZZARD HELLO??
I also think their is not enough towns destroyed by demons and far too many npc but maybe thats just me.
I agree. I love the beta as well. But I hate having people killing the mobs before I ever get to them. IT IS NOT FUN.
Endgame on the final game wonât be like Kor Dragan at all, Kor Dragan is just where people gather because itâs the only 30+ area in the beta, so it has become the âendgameâ of the beta while itâs not meant to.
I agree with this. I would like an option for private world instances, for people who prefer to share the world of Diablo IV with friends only, or just want a full solo experience. Competing for mobs is not enjoyable for me, it is immersion breaking and puts me off the game I otherwise enjoy. If you want people to be tempted by cosmetics, keep just the towns shared.
Yes plz an option for Single play,Dont need this World of Diablocraft bullshit. D4 beta was good,But this âShared Worldâ is garbage.
Wait what ? I hardly came across anyone in the open world. Are we split by our language or something ?
There were maybe around 10-15 people in the main town at the same time, and the most people i met in a single spot outside was 4 (except during world events displayed on the map).
I leveled both a Normal and Hardcore character to 25 for information.
Wait next Friday for Open Beta,There will be much more people.
You are not the only one feeling this way IanJHayHay. I was pleasantly surprised by this beta. All nice and moody, as it should be and then I reach the town⌠People running around, someone shouting random emotes over and over, Blacksmith obstructed by mob of other players, etc⌠When I got to lvl20 I started seeing more and more players running around the open world and killing monsters or clearing all the events around.
I just stuck to doing dungeons (which always was a core game for me - miss you endless dungeon Diablo 1) and used fast travel to avoid frustration.
We do need a âswitch other players offâ button.
I am 60yrs old and retired military, Iâve played Blizzard games since 2004, including all of the Diablo versions. Diablo IV Beta was pleasing, kept my attention, and played flawlessly on my CyberPower PC, all graphics on max, and I am only using my Tmobile phone as a tethered hotspot in a remote area with only a 20mps down / 6mps up connection.
Addressing this forum topic, in my beta experience this weekend, I first noticed a few players, and with my slower connection, I lagged a few times, until I found a setting, and I cannot remember what it was called, but it had to do with turning off sharing the world with players not on my realm. I didnât know exactly what that was but I unchecked it and then I began seeing less players and less lag. The only time I turned on this setting was before the world boss spawns, and I joined in on the public quest to kill the boss. I would then uncheck that setting and lag would go away, and fewer players. Maybe it was my imagination, but that setting seemed to help with the number of players I encountered in my questing and beta testing.
The map reminded me a lot of that in Guild Wars 2, with icons at the top, showing me how many of each thing I had completed, and I so enjoyed the game, that I nearly completed the entire thing. There was enough content for me to work on that I hardly noticed other players roaming here and there.
I may be wrong, but I thought I noticed when I came near another player killing mobs that it gave me a xp percentage increase while near them? Maybe that was just for the âpublic questsâ (those small sideline quests noted with a red circle around it on the map), but I did not see where I was not getting kill credit if someone else tagged a mob with me and my not being grouped. Maybe the developers can tell us whether itâs like WoW Retail where anyone can tag a mob for a quest and get credit.
Overall, I did not notice other players, or have them make me feel like I had to rush to get something complete. I played sorcerer the entire time, and after I found an item that gave me a second hydra, I was hooked. I did find one bug and reported it, thatâs what beta is for. I stayed busy without interruption or competition of other players. Looking forward to the release in June!
I think having the option would be nice. I didnât mind being with other players, but like others have said it kind of ruined my immersion and power fantasy. You can keep towns as multiplayer hubs, but when you leave it becomes instanced if you want, or you can keep it as MP.
Itâs like Path of Exile and thatâs the worst part of that game too. Wonder who saw like the first settlement part in that with 52353252352 players with a horde of pets and summons and super extra effects swarming 1 or 2 NPC and thought: âhmm this is nice!â
Buckets over flowing with rain, salt rises in the ocean
Actually in PoE afaik in the world where you are fighting against mobs you dont have people randomly interacting with your gameplay
Only in those non combat hub areas⌠But in Diablo 4 they want people in your world everywhere messing with your gameplay.
Its pathetic and this game goes against the basic staples of the genre as seen in Diablo 2, 3, hell even D1.
Also in marketing the game they lied, they said start to finish can be soloâd but I guess having random zoomers interact with you counts as solo in the minds of the 18-22 year old staff members at Blizzard. Gen Z is cancer. This game is bad. This beta was a joke. This whole thing deserves to crash and burn.
Diablo 3 will have a higher player count revival when Diablo 4 comes out. Just watch.
(TL DR all posts)
arenât the dungeion instanced? I never encountered other players, when I entered even a cellarâŚ
So, I believer only the open world is multiplayer. And, to be honest, I even think ti is good that way. I also have a feeling, that the monsters and amount of groups are SUPPOSED to be faought by several players, be it in a group or just by being at the same place of in the same time. BTY:; there is personal loot, which means, if you only manage to kill one or two of the event, you will get the loot-chest, too. With loot ONLY for you.
And ofte, itâs just better that way, because you canât complete it alone. (Almost all events have a time-limit.) If you are too late, just wait, the event will restart not long afterward. At least, that is my experience.
I know such mechanics. From Age of reckoning (Warhammer Fantasy MMO, RIP, sadlyâŚ) But I believe itâs also in age of conan? (I tried that game, but you even canât use special characters for the login-password. So I didnât bother to get it running.) In age of reckoning, however, there was a calculation of your part, and the qualitiy of the loot depended on that. In D IV, you just need a kill (and complete the event in time.) to get decent qulitiy of the loot.
Why does everybody feel, itâs a competiion? If you around other players, you will get passive experience. You wll even get MORE experience for kills. And get experience, for kills, you DIDNâT do. Itâs definitly NOT a competion. And you definitly wonât level slower, because there are others in the world.
Multiple treads on the forums ,one in 10-15 actually, and d4 is expecting to sell 5 million copies within 24 hours after release.
People who want everything that doesnât belong in D4 are minority, and when i say minority.
I fully agree. A full single player mode should be mandatory.
I personally hate multiplayer because of the inability to prevent cheating and not being able to enjoy the game.
Single player is a great way to release stress, and play the game the way it was meant to be played. When playing with npcâs, they always follow the rules, and donât cheat.
Multiplayer âalwaysâ ruins the experience. Iâm convinced the only players who really like multiplayer are those who want to cheat and trample other players thus making themselves look like an uber player.
Diablo 2 was ruined because of implementation of multiplayer and forcing âSingle playersâ to use âPlayers 8â command to just be able to play the game.
I though Blizzard stated they were to implement a full single player mode for Diablo 4 to fix the Diablo 3 mistakes!? Well no surprise, they lied.
Hey babies and boomers. Some of you are boomer babies. You get the same amount of XP if you donât tag a mob, as if you do. Dave Brevik boomers made Diablo 2.
Not sure if some of you know that but you are definitely not intelligent enough to know he made Marvel Heroes. In its prime, it was the best ARPG on the market.
It played like Diablo 4, you would go into the world and see other heroes in instanced areas. Brevik said he would have made Diablo 4 exactly the same way. This was back during the Diablo 3 launch.
The reality is Brevik wouldnât have saved diablo 4. You would have got the same exact game Blizzard made with more complex trees. Hahaha, dumb Boomers. Vote Maga you old cry babies.
