Skill modifier on set doesn't work

I have a necro summon and all summon skills are defined as darkness skills in the book of the death. I have a fer of the black shroud set item with +3 to darkness skills.
The extra points are not added to the skills. If the skills are defined as darkness then that should also be visible in de skill tag which isnt either.

correction: darkness is visible in tooltip on skeleton warrior and golem but not on mages.
Still the +3 doesnt work.

I discovered only mages are affected. It is a major damage loss on the mages skill.
They dont get the darkness tag.
