I know it’s not a popular opinion. But I’m in favor of resppecialization costing a lot, and that players should devote themselves to a character and think about how to develop it, rather than playing recklessly by clicking whatever comes along and, like a flag in the wind, change the build whenever an item with a different skill falls out.
Developers should not succumb to pressure and stand by their statement - that it will be easier to make a new character than to return all the points later in the game.
Statements by youtubers or streamers only add bitterness to the fire because they never care about wasting time and want as much ease as possible. However, not everything in the game should be easy - and certainly not playing with a mediocre build, with different skillets every now and then, from which we get a drop. Players should learn mechanics and skills. And man learns from his mistakes. And not leading by the hand.
You wanted a simple game, but difficult to master.
This is it
D2 and D3 have infinity respect D2 being you need to obtain certain materials to do it after you use your 3 free respecs. And no one has issues with that.
Whole idea of wasting your time to re level a new character just to change some skills is kinda bad and outdated. I be fine with once your reach max level you have to resort to finding or trading a certain crafted item like in D2 to respect but not not be able to other wise would be silly.

You can pay for a respec or farm for it i guess. Otherwise make good decisions. It’s hard sometimes!

You learn mechanics and skills by trying them out. If you make respec too difficult then people will follow build guides and never try anything else. One spec isn’t going to work well for dungeons, world bosses, pvp and general play. Having a rare legendary drop isn’t going to be fun if you have to start a new character or grind for days just to try it out. Diablo 3 has been going for over 10 years now and allowed people to respec so clearly that model is working. I vote to keep it like Diablo 3 and not punish people for trying new builds.

You learn at the start which is cheap respec. If you need to respec end game that’s on you. You won’t need to restart to wear gear… i think you’re chatting a load of poop. D3 has free respec. It also takes less than an hour to max a char. I would rather watch paint dry.
You will find the best skill changing legendries at end game and like I said one spec will not be great for all modes of play. They designed the game to encourage us to change specs especially at endgame.
Where is this information found please?
How does this information encourage us to respec at end game and why can’t we go to harder modes from the start if we so wish?
Veteran II is only hard if you rush it like i did on my barb as we were told we could rush to end game if we want. I don’t like to and i couldn’t so no complaints about that.
You aren’t going to be able to do Tier 4 Torment content at a low level. But lets just put an end to this debate.
By allowing us to respec freely we can both play the way we want. You can choose not to respec if you don’t want to. My being able to respec does not affect you.
This allows everyone to play the way they choose which means more players and Blizzard wants more players. On that note by allowing me to respec when i choose lets say i like to change from a fire sorc to a lightning sorc occasionally, well now I am going to want a nice shiny outfit that matches for each of those specs which means Blizzard has more opportunity to sell me skins than if I was locked into one spec. So financially it makes more sense for Blizzard to allow us to respec.
Well that really sucks.
It affects me in pvp very much so if i decide to do pvp. Hehe.
