So here is my current problem.
Im not sure i like the whole season concept for diablo 4.
I have played all the diablo games and feel like some of the games suited seasons better than others.
Now althought i feel that seasons in D4 is gonna make the game less fun, i will say i dont know yet as i have not seen or tried what they are coming up with.
However, the problem i am having now is this:
I have completed the campaign, i am currently level 74, all altars are discovered and all the renown rewards have been gained.
I am trying to level but feel the xp gain in NM dungeons are way to low, so i find the grinding slow and some times boring as i feel the progression is to slow.
I know the games is about the grind, but to me Diablo is more a game about grinding for the perfect gear, not to level up, but thats just how i feel about it.
Moreover, what makes this worse is that its all gonna reset in like 3-4 weeks, so is it worth me playing it anymore before the reset?
Some dev even said that everyone should play it and complete the campaign so that you can skip it on reset at the start of season one.
Well i have done that so now what?
Unless my character carries over to the first season, i dont see the point in playing past completing the campaign as ill just have to level up again in 3-4 weeks.
So again i ask, whats the point in playing past the campaign if it all gonna reset in 3-4 weeks unless your characters will carry over for the first season?
New to this game but… it’s all going to reset in 3-4 weeks?
Wondering why I am playing this game now lol
Well season 1 starts in mid-late July so yeah, from what i gather.
Firstly - there is no reset
I think with any game like D4 and has a level cap there is a tendency to have more than one char, i.e Alt Char … otherwise there would be more content and it would be harder to do.
When you start a season your existing character goes into the “Internal Realm” and any new chars can start immediately on existing and new season content. When the season is over all the content is then available on any of your old characters.
Hence overtime all characters get to progress in new content - there is just a 3 month stagger for new alt characters in which they get to experience it 1st. Thus in reality its the same as any another other game. I am not saying season content is any good though I suppose this way it encourages more Alt char play.
There may also be some cosmetics only available to season chars in each season.
Ok, i might have worded it poorly.
I know the eternal realm character wont reset, But thats my point.
If you can only progress the battlepass through seasons, then what is the point?
Because clearly playing on an eternal character is gonna become boring real quick how they set this up as seasonal players are gonna get all the fun parts first.
Dont get me wrong, i will be a seasonal player, or rather i think i will be depending on how they deal with the whole mess thats going on.
But as such, i dont see a point as a seasonal player to keep playing past the campaign before the first season starts, which i find strange.
Get what im saying @Wolfblass?
I’m not sure - but maybe an example will help:
Now - say you have a lvl 80 and lvl 50 char when the season starts. You have slowed down as the content has become less enjoyable.
New Season There is some new content available to all (especially some end game stuff and gameplay changes) and thus you may decide to play 25% of your time with your old level 80 and 50 chars.
At the same time your are really exited about the new season stuff for Sorcerer and want to start a new char on that. It also offers some new lower level content, extra class quest lines and uber items for Sorc. Thus you play 75% of your time on Sorc in Season.
At the end of the season your try the new class quest on your lvl 80 and 50 chars - push them all the way to 100 and farm their season 1 armour sets, and aim to continue on your Sorc. But new season is now ready and there is a new class - Paladin … dam not enough time to do it all - lol
Of course - I don’t how things will work in reality … but we as players seem to be very good at predicting a disaster about everything we know nothing about
You don’t lose what you do now.
You get to complete the campaign.
If you complete it now you do t have to in the season. So that’s a head start.
Every bit of renown for Lilith statues and map discovered is also carried over, for more head start.
You learn the areas you like, the “map fog” is carried over. More dungeons you find now, easier to find in season.
Plus it’s Hella fun.
my issue is the time it takes to reach lvl 100.
i will never be max level in a season, so i will not be playing seasons.
but im ok with it, i like the game and i still have a ton of hours to play in legasy.
but theres just no way im gonna be playing an eternal levling seasonal grind without never playing a lvl 100 build.
but hey.
i hope people have fun with it, ill be haveing fun without.
ps. in D3 it took 2 or 3 dayes to be max level and the rest of the season was gear and build.
i liked that alot.
That makes no sense. 100 is the maximum for people like streamers/no-lifers.
There could be massive rewards at lvl 60, 69, 70, 80, etc. And I am almost level 60 today on a hero and I only played her for like 5 days.
They could implement boost weekends just like they did in d3, they could sell items that boost you. There will be community rewards, all sorts you will miss out on, because you think a higher level number is better than more engaging seasonal content?
In eternal, you hit 100… Then… Go fishing I guess? Walk the lands of Sanctuary like Caine from Kung Fu?
i sure hope they do something.
id love to play seasons, but i dont think the level cap and time it takes is proportionate to a 3 month season.
im level 70 and im still chasing and i love it, but i whont love it if it never ends.
i hornestly think something will shake lose.
i have a feeling that a supstatial amount of players will just not play seasons.
and seasons is the entire buisness model, so im waiting to se what they will come up with.
Max Level is kind of just for maxing out the paragon board and pushing NM dungeons. You can find BIS gear with max ilvl right after changing to WT4 as long as you are Level 60, which is the minimum requirement to wear ancestral gear.
edit: The level system is much more like D2, PoE or similiar ARPGs. Your build is almost complete at like ~70% of level cap and the last 10 levels is just very small gains.
First of all character you playign right now is not going anywhere you can play it
If you did play seasons in D3 or you play POE leagues that’s how it’s gonna work
Every new season is like a new start with a new mechanic new gear new stuff for your class maybe they will later release new class who knows
but like this is how seasonal games work
That’s what is good about them
Diablo 3 was fun everytime new season came out because everytime there was something different to build
For example etheral weapons in season 24 or season 25 soul shards
it changed how you did builds for your characters…
You need to understand that this is not world of warcraft where you play one character 15 years
ARPG at least that’s how it works in last years supposed to reset because new begining is the most fun experience
nothing about this system comes as a suprice to me, im well aware exacly how and what seasons is.
im just saying, the time it takes to reach endgame is to much for me to play a 3 month season.
i think seasonal game model can be great fun, i just dont think a 3 month season fit´s the current state of D4
and i dont think im crazy for wanting to build a level 100.
apart from levelling a new character from lvl1, all other things will be carried over like full map clear, all altars, all your apsects that you have unlocked, all renown etc, so don’t worry. It would be a nightmare if those did’nt carry over, so devs know it and have made it happen!
Once you’ve explored the map, got every major town waypoint, completed the campaign and nabbed all the Altars of Lilith?
Yeah there’s not much point. Eternal amounts to a glorified graveyard for Seasonal characters.
Eh why there’s not much point? lol…Some people dont want to play season…
Why is everyone assuming that we have to reach 100 in the Season?
We have ZERO information on what we have to do in a season & yet everyone is Doomsaying & quitting over them.
I dont like the idea to create a new character … What game really need is more item lvl drop the higher u push difficulty , bosses more hard they are a joke , more rare stuff to find special real good items worth time amd effort loking for them…
this is exacly my point.
i dont think we have to hit 100, im pretty sure the battle pass is completed way before that and i can experience all the seasonal content at about lvl 50 ish.
but thats kinda my issue.
when i create a character im gonna wanna build it till its done, and i dont accept that part of the endgame is only for streamers and nolifers…
It is the other way around. You don’t loose any characters. All characters you made are none seasonal. Once you create seasonal character you can play it for 3 months then it will be moved to none seasonal
…so you’re gonna have
season 1 - main (none seasonal) + alt seasonal
season 2 - Two none seasonal characters + 2nd alt seasonal
Seasons are same as creating new character right now. The only difference in D3 is that you get free sets, different gear and have different mechanics. We don’t know what we’ll get in 1st season.
