Just wanted to say, the soundtrack so far in D4 is phenomenal. Specifically the “Gnarled Timbers” area/cut, been listening to it on repeat since last week’s beta. Really hits and sets the bleak Diablo mood.
The sound in the game is really good and i agree.
I would like to point out tho that after playing the game for many hours it can become a bit repetitive and boring. I was lucky enough to get to play in the December End-game beta and after a while the town music started to get a bit boring. I´d suggest making it more random, add more tracks for certain areas and not always play the same song, a bit of silence every now and then can also contribute allot, play surrounding ambiance at random rather than the area soundtrack.
Agreed, maybe some ambient noise or quiet interludes that could be spliced into town music or something. The main town theme is great but like you said if you afk in town after a while it starts to repeat a bit too much.
Overall though the direction so far is definitely one I was happy with, it captures the feeling without being a retread of D1/2.
