Even since I started playing, I’ve noticed that the world bosses only come once every 7 hours… First of all, that is ridiculous and wrong all by itself, and you must know that as a developer making a game for a big crowd like this. The time of the boss spawns is also very annoying. It’s in the middle of diner time, or in the middle of the night! Or during the day, but I’m only on if I’m lucky…oh wait that is my Blizzard name… Uhmmm, I’m only on if it so happens to be. If I’m lllllllllllllllll lost. I ask for prime time bosses, do a few in the evening. I have the CEST time zone in Europe. Furthermore, I eat at 18:00, put my kid to bed, and I am maybe on around 20:00… that’s an hour after the boss. I have 2 hours of play, and I’m not staying on for another 5 hour just to get crappy loot from something that supposed to be very lucrative. I rather take my chance in any dungeon. But then again, the world bosses supposed to be something great, right? I just can’t see it that way. And it’s not only the loot, it’s for the tree whispers as well. So it’s not just the boss I’m missing out, it’s also that. I’m not saying I’ve never seen the boss, I have my lucky moments that I can participate, but most of the time I have to miss it due to the bad timing. And of course the lack of spawns of the boss. My guess is that I’m not the only one in this. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are even people that haven’t even seen one yet because of the 7 HOUR RESPAWN TIME 0-0. Please, change that. I mean, the hell tides and legion events are great and perfect as it is because they are there the whole day. But the bosses could use better timing and a little more than once in the 7 hours in my opinion. Cheers
That is done on purpose, with current battlepass goal where you need to kill 15 of them on world tier IV. So they have you for at least 15 days, where you need to remember of that task to finish, login in right time and kill the boss. They want to create that habit of playing every day. Its needed for their monetization model.
I completely agree the timing could be much better and more frequent spawns would be nice.
For the time being: I use this site that tracks boss spawns. Maybe you can occasionally plan around it.
Good luck!

Yes. Check external sites to snipe that in game event. This is madness of higher degree.
I prefer games that I can turn on and play and do whatever I want in them atm.
I didn’t come up with this Just working with what we got.
This is madness, they try to train people like monkeys. For real, I even know people give access to their accounts to friends or family so they can farm those limited time events.
So the game is for me, or I’m the resource for the game?
…and a grand cache every time beaten, not just once a week.
They fixed that, sadly. Is once per week per boss.
Both.
AAA ‘live service’ 2023.
Just make sure you enjoy it while you play it.
I can’t. This is the last live service game/ game with microtransactions that I paid for.
I completely get that. I am at least never going to preorder again.
Ive killed the world Bosses 5 times this season. Unfortunately due to the Middle of the day while Im at work, or the middle of the night while I sleep, occasionally I get to kill one at tea time or first thing in the morning if I risk being late for work.
A couple of times ive showed up alone or with a few grossly under levelled players rendering the attempts useles, or Ive been hit by the boss and animations locking my character in place unable to move or interact. I dont need to kill 15 for the acheivement other than for the sake of achievement. But it looks like Blizzard have forsaken the old qualities of ‘good games’ towards strategies to make more money. Blizzard had the foundations of a respectable gaming company and slowly their pissing this reputation away with greed, and cheap cost reducing game design.
Yep, and that’s one task for completing season 1 that you won’t be able to do.
So that means you have to complete 2 of the following 3:
- reach level 100
- beat Uber Lilith
- complete a tier 43 NMD.
I seem to recall Blizzard stating seasons should be perfectly doable for casual players. Doesn’t seem like they succeeded to me
I am NOT trying to defend Blizzard (in fact I believe the spawn timer should be 4 hourly or even less) but, World bosses spawn frequently enough for everyone to get 15 kills in a 3 month season.
15 World boss kills equates to roughly 1 per week. Even if you only play on weekends, you can still get 2 kills every week, which will only take you 8 out of 12 weeks to get the challenge.
You don’t need to be there 30 minutes before the boss spawns, rocking up 1 minute before the spawn will still be fine.
Well its bad, I don’t want to wait for them to spawn. I want to be able to do any content whenever I log in to the game (that is like almost never those days). I hate any event locked behind timer. I need to go out of my way and check if the boss will spawn (next one is in 16 minutes), I wont be doing it.
Anyway they should remove world bosses whatsoever and make it proper gameplay, instead of what they are now.
I went to one on purpose, wanted to ride around the battle on the horse, but it didn’t let me stay on the horse, instead I was just walking around and not attacking the boss, didn’t do anything whole fight, still got the grand cache. FUN.
And how on earth this is considered an event? Where are all cool things after it ends, like the screen with statistics of the players that took part in the event, who did most dmg, how many times players died etc. There is nothing, just the simple crap, big bad monster appeared in the world, go kill it.
This whole game is so damn sad.
Anyone knows some story behind the bosses and why they attack the realm?
Or it is just another mobile crap like save the caravan or other events of that sort?
I’ve been playing quite a lot (5 to 6 hours a day) for a week and a half now and I’m at the point that I am considering doing the WT3 capstone. Granted, I already did all renown, so I could have been in WT4 by now. So let’s say a week of playing 5 hours daily.
If you’d play 2 hours for 4 evenings a week (lets say 8 pm to 10 pm), you’d take longer to reach the same amount of hours: a little over 4 weeks.
That leaves 8 weeks to do WT4 content. So you’ll need 2 WBs or more per week to do it.
Looking at the schedule for WBs: of the coming 26 WBs only 4 are between 8 pm and 10 pm. remove half of them since you only play half the evenings: 2 WB’s should be doable.
You can’t miss more than 1 of them. Possible? Sure, but it’s a really tight fit.
And yes, you can get to WT4 faster if you grind hard enough and only do NMD after lvl 50, but that’s not really playing casual. You could say to plan your game-evenings in accordance to the times, but that is not casual either
It would make a HUGE difference if Blizz decided to forgo the WT4 requirement of that particular step. That would give the casuals a lot more breathing room.
It does sound like you have a lot of time to complete everything, but in practice it’s not that long for really casual players. I’m glad I have more time than that, so I don’t have to worry about it
Obviously the later you join a season, the harder it becomes to complete the challenges, which is why I said Blizzard should reduce the spawn timer of World bosses.
I’ve been at a Tier 4 World Boss & seen players as low as level 52, & I have helped Clan members unlock World Tier 4 at a low level so that they can do the World Boss on Tier 4.
They don’t contribute much to the kill, but at least they get credit for the kill.
The season journey objective need 6/8 tasks to be completed so you need to do 1 of those 3 things anyway.
Change to 3 hours instead of 7 hours would be nice!
For those of you interested:
The time pattern is alternating 1-2-1-2-2 repeating. *note, the ms is an estimate since I don’t have ms precision, so that still needs to be tweaked to perfection, otherwise there is drift.

If the spawn is going to be in a blackout time, it will spawn 2 hours later.

Quite a clever mechanic actually, that will guarantee 4 spawns per day, but with wildly varying times.
There is nothing clever about this from blizzards side, every other game does these kind of events better. Atleast in wow the world boss is always up but somehow in diablo 4 they just couldn’t understand how to do that.
