Very odd. Yesterday I had no problems playing the game and today it got stuck at “Logging into Diablo IV” and froze.

I get this 50% of the time, first login it always freezes (100% of the time) - have to ctrl alt delete and force close.
Next login it works.

Just curious: Are you on Win 11 with 24H2 update? Before that, I never had any issues with login.
Happens with GFN and Windows 10. I get the feeling that if you don’t skip the 2 small intro videos (Blizzard, Vessel of Hatred) it works most of the time
The last few days the login was not an issue. Today, I again froze at login.
Its a problem with the DirectX Storage library. You can disable it with adding:
-disableds
to the startup settings of the game and it should no longer happen. At least it fixed it for me.

I assume the mess started with the Win11 24H2 update.
Edit: It started to freeze again even with the -disableds parameter.
This happens on every initial log in that I do and I alternate between logging out of Battle.Net, restarting my computer, rebooting my internet, and just swearing and restarting D4 over and over after force killing it.
Adding the -disableds command, disabling my firewall, and logging in/out, and watching the videos at the beginning do not reliably fix it. It seems to just be an issue with D4 and very specific people^ The other person in my house is on the exact same update of Win10 and network as me and they have no problems ever.
The new patch is now freezing again at login.
Now it happens to freeze every time at log in.
And if it finally passes the login then it crashes to the desktop before the character selection screen appears.

I have had this issue to going back pre S7. When I play this on xbox x I have no logging in issues at all so issue likely to be PC related rather than my account. On PC via battlenet 1st attempts almost always hang on the logging in stage following the queue message, After quit task it runs through correctly for me to play. I am running rtx 3080 card on win 11 i7-12700k with 32GB RAM.
Same thing ive been playing this game almost daily, since pre launch with no issue, haven’t played for the last few weeks and just let it update, then I come back and cant get passed log in screen just freezes up. Blizzard has fumbled the update and its affecting some players.
just going to clean reinstall if that doesn’t work I guess I’m a PoE2 fan boy and blizzard doesn’t get my battle pass monies.
