I wanted to share a couple of suggestions that I believe would improve the gameplay experience for many players.
Loot Distribution Improvements
Currently, obtaining items with 2-3 Greater Affixes (GA) feels incredibly challenging, let alone finding items with perfect stats. I think the game should reward long-term progression by gradually improving loot quality as you invest more time. For example:
If you’re consistently obtaining items with 750+ item power but no GA, the drop rate for items with 1 GA should significantly increase.
Once you collect items with 1 GA, the chances of dropping items with 2 GAs should improve, and so on.This would ensure steady item progression, allowing players to feel rewarded for their effort rather than being stuck in RNG purgatory. Currently, it’s frustrating to see someone new to the game (e.g., a week in) get a perfect item with 4 GAs, while others who have been grinding for weeks struggle to even find a decent upgrade.
Paragon Level Progression
Reaching 300 Paragon levels feels unnecessarily grindy under the current system. It often devolves into farming Pit runs, which overshadow other activities. The XP gain disparity between PITs and other activities like Nightmare Dungeons or Helltides discourages variety in gameplay. My suggestion is to balance XP rewards across all activities, making it viable to gain Paragon levels by engaging in diverse content. Players who only have 2 hours a day to play shouldn’t feel forced to grind PITs just to reach 300 Paragon. Rewarding players for doing different activities would make the game more engaging and less monotonous.
These are just some quick ideas that could help make the game more rewarding and enjoyable for players.
Thanks for considering these suggestions, and I’d love to hear what the community thinks as well!
Greater affixes was a mistake and should have never been added to the game. They were innitially intended to be a lucky bonus, but that doesn’t work well with a game that is all about min/maxing, because people start depending on it as a mandatory thing rather than a bonus, and it only leads to frustration of not getting the GA’s you need.
I agree that the paragon cap is way too grindy, most people dont have the time to grind xp for months, only to start over again the next season, and it leaves a lot of us with a feeling of incomplete characters.
getting all of the above is difficult for you, for many it is not difficult. If we simplify and lower the bar, then what should people do, for whom it was not difficult to get all this before? Knock out all the items in a month and get level 300 - and then what to do?
Excuse me? Your definition of many is how much of the player base? 5%?
Give me a break!
For instance, i play D4 at a daily basis since the it came out, and got my FIRST 4* unique drop TODAY! TODAY!
And just saw 65 para players selling 4* uniques like if they’re unloading a truck full of them!
I’m at 264 para, do i need to say anything else?
You’re lucky anyway!
I’ve got 354 hours played, reached 300 Paragon, and I still don’t have a single item with 4x Greater Affix!
That’s why I stopped playing for now - I just don’t see the point right now. I’d understand if the chances for a Greater Affix drop increased over time, but that’s not the case. It’s pure RNG.
Hi! Could you elaborate on what you mean by “PTW” in this context? As far as I know, Diablo 4 only offers cosmetic items and mounts for purchase, which don’t impact stats or gameplay. Are you suggesting there’s some other pay-to-win mechanic involved that I might not be aware of? I’m genuinely curious about your perspective.
The only p2w i this game is when people buy gold from RMT third party websites and spend that gold on buying gear from other players on Diablo trade. There is no way to buy player power directly from blizzard in this game.
Not only gold. There’s a lot of stuff for sale in third party sites.
Really? So how does some players have a ton of cosmetics, and when season starts, they’re already buffed to para 50 or 100 in matter of a hour of gameplay?
I’ve seen that happen. not once or twice, it happened too many times.
If that’s not P2W, then what it is? Some players are better than the rest just because they invested in cosmetics?
If you search you can find out i’m not the only one saying that, the “cosmetic pay buff issue” was already been discussed since way before D4 was released, just search in internet…
If you have some kind of conspiracy theory about cosmetics granting hidden buffs, i cant disprove that any more than you can prove it, but i can tell you for sure, there are no official legitimate ways of buying gear, levels, xp buffs or power. Even smoldering ashes are locked by seasonal progress, if you surpass them with a paid battlepass skip.
If you have seen players with unreasonable high level early on in a season, they used some kind of speed farm method or exploit.
That’s an interesting point, but wouldn’t that just be standard for expansions in most games? Buying an expansion usually gives access to new content like characters, items, and mechanics. Diablo 2 and its LoD expansion did exactly the same with runewords, new classes, and other features. I’m not sure if that qualifies as “pay-to-win” since it’s more about paying for additional content, which is pretty normal for expansions. What do you think?
Of course there are no official legitimate ways.
Or you think Blizz shows you the whole picture?
For sure they know who invested more $ in cosmetics, and they can possibly give some buffs “under the table” to those players…
Just like they do to streamers…
I agree with it. I notice a patch of empty land east of Nahantu and some coastal stretches of empty land south west and north east of the world map! Convinced they’re reserved for a future exp
Nothing wrong with loot distribution to me. Recently I’ve found a mythic with 2 greater affixes in one of the chests of nightmare dungeons. Just run a lot guys and you’ll have luck.
Also I don’t have any problem with 300 paragon levels. I want to work on my character for longer time, not just finish season in one week and then reset and character goes to the garbage dump.
