In Season 9, performance seems to have absolutely tanked.
In season 8, I was running on a GTX 1080 8GB with graphics on high, at 2560x1080 and getting good framerates. I then upgraded to an RX 9070 16GB OC and was able to run at 3840x1440 in Ray Tracing Ultra.
In season 9, I can’t even run at the settings I used to use for my GTX 1080 without getting horrible stuttering.

I have the same issues. This season is HORRIBLE. I get FPS drops every time I ride outside a town for a few seconds. And I mean it goes from 120 down to like 5.

Runs buttery smooth here. have you tried a driver reinstall for your videocard? or perhaps reinstall the game. I am running it on a 7700x, 32gb ram, 4080 super. game is installed on NVME drive. Windows 11 24h2. with everything maxxed out on 1440p it never drops below 100 fps.
Yeah on console i have way less problems than on my pc, so im switching install on my pc to my main SSD. hopefully it does the magic.
Same issue in season 9. 7800X3D/4080S, 1440P… Drop fps… Windows 11 23h2

It’s not a game issue. it’s running perfectly smooth here, no issues what so ever. Perhaps it’s your antivirus or something on the background.
My game is running smooth too, but i would not rule out it being a game issue, the game is notoriously poorly optimized, and historically it has been very inconsistent, pretty much since launch.
I have no doubt there are people outthere who have no idea how to maintain a pc, and treat it like a console, but there are also plenty of examples of people with perfectly running machines, who have no issue what so ever in a variety of games, but still have performance and stability issues in D4

Go to your options and turn off raytracing manually or choose one of the default settings , eg. Ultra with no raytracing. should be good
rubberbanding is an internet provider problem. or it’s somewhere between your computer and the game’s servers. Not a blizzard issue.
Same problem, and it’s the first time. In previous seasons I never had any problems. Moreover, I think it is the worst season ever also because of the choices made to force users to play for longer, achieving the opposite effect.

Atrocious performance, but I swear this was a thing in past season as well - fixed rather quick tho. This is just trash.
Toggling “Ray Traced Particles” to off under Options>Graphics at the very bottom, fixed the stuttering issue for me.

That option even has a disclaimer in the setting description: “Disabling this setting will improve performance”
wow so much uninformed “information” here like:
“rubberbanding is from your ISP, since a server can not cause this”
“it is not a problem, since I PERSONALLY do not have that problem”
thanks for making everyone dumber
I have the same!! Season 9 Lag terrible loot is bad bad, The Runes still horrible to get!! Tempering is worst than ever!!!

Try lowering your texture quality, worked like a charm for me.
Actually, its a better drop rate than S8.
