Ok you are an idiot. Thank you for the clarification.
You’ll all be glad to know Maxroll creators have unanimously decided not to claim any worlds first rewards even if they win, letting the runners up claim rewards. Thats at least some of the press release participants out the pool.
Not fair to them. It was never their fault.
Yes, Blizzard abducted them in the middle of the night, forced them to sign NDA’s and stored them in an air-gapped underground bunker and forced them to play the campaign of Diablo 4.
You’re totally right.
You continue to be completely unrealistic. No one would refuse the possibility to try the full game for free.
Maybe wudijo spent less time bitching in forums and used his time more wisely playing Diablo wich got him noticed by Blizzard.
To be fair the questions was faked by that youtuber “futuregameshow”, but I don’t understand why he faked the dumbest questions. Atleast fake a good question…
Zizaran has the best solution: make the event start in season 1 because then early access won’t make it pay to win and everyone has a month to learn the game.
That’s actually the most sensible thing said in this thread thus far.
yes. but then you not tell to everybody on your youtube channel how you will compete for world first without mentioning from the beginning you already played the game.
Is there some sort of prize for being world first?. If not then I cannot see what all the fuss is about. If there was a prize involved then yes it would be a little unfair.
i dont understand some people taking this stuff so lightly like nothing happens, GGG got a big problem with far less when they give streamer priority for queue when a league started…these benefits causes credibility loss for developers and will cause people suspecting of streamers RNG priority like in poe, but full game early access for a handful of people? the only thing that is missing is letting streamers keep their progress when the game launches…at this rate any suspicion of developers helping someone in anyway will be more than reasonable.
it is a prize, first 1000players will have names written on a Lilith statue, and first ones in a special places. this even was mentioned to be already pay2win in D4, because those who pay for 4 days early access already also have a big advantage.
Then Yeetya came up with the perfect solution to keep others happy, Me on the otherhand don’t really care about having my name on a stature its not ground breaking news. I have the 4 days early access but I wont even make it in the first 2000 as I have no intrest on racing through the game.
To be fair, it’s been said around 30 people participated in the press-release of the game, although I’m not sure how many participated in the End Game Beta, most of whom were actual press and play video games pretty casually and write a piece then immediately move onto the next game. Even if they did get preferential spots on the statue, you’ll probably find that those who were part of the press release and actually dedicated and invested players in the game, all three factors at the same time… They have done above and beyond for the Diablo Community over the last 20+ years and would be deserving of their name on a Statue regardless.
It’s highly unfair that the community and the vocal minority of the 1% has caused the elimination players who dedicate their lives to the game from the race because they have signed up to assist in the games development and release process without the condition they would be forced to disqualify at the time.
Yes, the team should have put a better plan in place, but there was 970 other spots up for grabs if you unrealistically expected all of the press to complete this hardcore challenge.
Also, very little seem to have a similar outrage that the games first official action is being pay-to-win on it’s very first event, by giving an even bigger advantage to the other 970 spots by launching this challenge (with a prize) on early access launch, which costs £20/$20 more to start 4 days early. I’ve heard very very little regarding this and that’s a bigger issue imo.
you are gonna beat some pixels bro! it dosnt matter if you are world’s 1. to do that or 1.000.000.000! get a life!
The “scandal” although not too big is on display.
The first part the - PR oopsie, its hard for me to imagine that someone believed that the questions they were answering all of the live streams so far are legit, or in the least not very carefully chosen. One of the biggest feedbacks this game got was the lack of customization and the fat/anorexic models of the Druid and Necro, and yet they didn’t even mention this in neither of the streams.
The second part however, to me is stupid, we are fully aware that most likely all those streamers already got into all types of alpha/beta testing this game already had, but this last one was really slap in the face. People like Wudijo acting all nice and innocent, saying what he will do to become world first was a bit hypocritical imho, and that’s the issue. For examle the first level 25 char I leveled took me almost full day. I wasn’t rushing the content I was listening to all dialogue I was basically enjoying the game, the second one however I already knew what I need to do and leveled for less than 2-3h without even rushing and that is the main issue of those 10 days full game. All hypocritical streamers got to test/enjoy the game at a tempo they like, and test all one shot mechanics, which I assume are plenty, that most of us aren’t aware of and in hardcore this could delay you quite a lot if you want to be one of those 1000 first level 100.
And don’t confuse yourself, those are not only the “content creators” all their communities and close friends now know what to do to be one of those 1000. The issue ain’t that they give 30 people give or take full access, but that they most definitely prepared comprehensive guides of how to achieve that, which believe me, the rest of us won’t be aware of until the whole thing is over.
Edit: I can now see that Blizzard has updated theyr T&C, and maxroll team has opted out of the competition, kudos to them.
of course, wudijo is part of maxroll.gg team, so all guys there already know all the details.
but ya, the innocence of wudijo is epic
They’ve committed to not doing the competition anyway.
There is no scandal. It’s only in your heads.
