Hi all, I posted once before, and it was not very flattering because it is an online game only.
Which, for me, meant I was unable to really play. I’d run up to a mob, time would freeze, only to display my bones to the harsh sun…
Now though, my internet got a serious revamp, and the game is really stable, fun, and worth every penny, to me at least.
The online only remains an issue though. Not for me, personally, any more, but for a lot of gamers who don’t have the level of privilege they can just upgrade, as well.
If not for this, I’d give it a 9 out of 10, but for this flaw (imho) I’ll go with 7.5
And only my upgrade prevented me from having to go with 1/10, so I can imagine a lot of people feel left behind by this business strategy?
Ending on a positive note, the game really has a lot going for it.
As someone who started out way back in the Diablo days where it was just one awesome game, I feel it really does capture the essence of the series quite well.
edited for spelling

‘‘to me at least’’ At least you didn’t come in here and stated game is best ever, doesn’t need any fixes etc…
I am happy you like it,i like it long time ago as well, back in first 2 beta weekends.
I played it like crazy, while my mind was working the rest of it in the background .
What lies ahead, what is capstone dungeon, how many cool enemies are out there, i cant wait to see 120 different dungeons and 120 different bosses at the end of each one, i cant wait to see paragon system, i cant wait to get uniques, how cool other zones are, i cant wait to min-max my resistances, i cant wait to complete mount quest in the next zone (as promoted) i cant wait to push NM dungeons, getting better gear with every tier, i cant wait to craft my NM keys with the awesome affixes , i cant wait to see the reacion of other players in general chat, i cant wait to group up with the people and do fun stuff together 24/7 …
Well game did come out,and i wanted to quit second day after release, when i realized 120 ‘‘unique dungeons’’ are exactly the same as previous 20 dungeons i farmed for 2 beta weekends, with exactly the same tasks (kill 5 blisters, collect animus, free the prisoners) No general chat,no lfg system,no mount until you nearly complete campain,no fun NM affixes,no working resistances whatsoever,3 same bosses in 120 different dungeons, get same gear at level 60 and 100, turns out you actually do not need any unique, no point doing NM higher than 60 and so on…

Glad you’re able to play the game properly now, may I ask what the changes to your internet entailed? Old versus new.
And there are issues with the game engine where it forces you to load the entire stash, equip, inventory, crafting materials & all related assets of every player in the same area.
This is causing most of the connectivity as well as stability issues.
Not everyone is suffering from this, but those who do suffer badly. I can attest to that myself as well.
We got upgraded to hyper fast cable, I don’t know the technical term I’m afraid, but I can download like 50 Gb per hour now… which would have taken forever with the old setup.
Also: this system allows for cable to be used from the signal booster to the PC, which in itself is a serious upgrade.
I haven’t encountered that bug so far I think knock on wood , I wouldn’t know how to recognize it without running developer tools?

Yea, I got my own ethernet cable today which may solve some issues.
As for the stash thing. It’s not a bug. It’s by design. Weird I know.
Basically what it comes down to, they used a monolithic coding structure on a game that should have used compartmentalization instead.
Monolithic is however faster&cheaper to code.

ouch… I did notice it does tend to get repetitive, indeed… especially since we only get to use 6 skills at a time, so innovative combat also isn’t possible.
And not having general chat nor trade options isn’t a decision I saw coming, either.
I mean, in Diablo 2 and 3, trade was encouraged, since one had to be extremely lucky to get the good stuff for the class one was playing.
I hardly ever played in mp though, since my connection was not exactly NASA grade.
now in Diablo 4, everybody hàs to play online, and trade nor partys aren’t encouraged?
D4 has an always online requirement. The game can not be played offline.
Trade is limited, but possible. However there have been a number of exploits of late that involved trading.
Then there were ban-waves and a whole lot of innocent players got banned along for things such as using trade… It was a mess.
Partying up should not be a problem & can be a huge boon for things like helltides, legions, clearing dungeons.

a big corporation, cutting corners to maximize profits at the expense of quality???
unheard of! voice dripping with sarcasm
It’s sad indeed… it’s not as if they didn’t know they’d make good on the initial investment either way, based on the game’s legacy alone!
I’m guessing Bobby Kotick & Board are trying to cash in fast for a few more rounds before the Microsoft deal goes trough.
He (Kotick) also promised “Performance Shares” to those devs working overtime towards D4 release. Thing is those performance shares will have to be paid out by Microsoft once the deal goes trough.
So he paid those employees from someone else’s wallet for rushing out this game so he can cash in.
This article helps explain that if you’d be interested in the read.

Everything I did so far was easily done alone, I still haven’t finished the campaign though, lvl 52 Druid atm, and trying to do 100% of the map, maybe when I get in to the post campaign part a group would sound enticing though, indeed
So far, everybody I meet just does their thing, stares for a split second, and bolts off again…

Use a map helping tool like the one available on Maxroll dot com.
You’ll have a much nicer time completing all those little renown things.
Wishing you lots of fun. Perhaps I’ll see you around in season2.
