The problem with Harlequin Crest

I think as a foreword one should acknowledge that game balance exist for a reason: To create diversity of builds, to keep an even playing field between players in pvp or even in pve content (how fast they can clear, or how high of a nm tier they can complete etc). If we acknowledge that game balance should apply to items, then I find it curious as to why the Harlequin Crest item should even exist.

When we consider amulets, which is arguably one of the strongest items we wear on our characters, a +3 to all defense skills is generally a must. This to illustrate how powerful even getting 4 skills at +3 is considered. Now imagine how powerful +4 to all skills would be. Even if Harlequin Crest gave nothing except 1400 armor and +2 to all skills it would probably still be the best item in the entire game. Now it actually gives a whole lot of generally useful attributes like cooldown reduction, attributes, dmg reduction, resource generation and max life, on top of giving +4 to all skills.

So the Harlequins Crest is basically the most overpowered item in the game. In order to supposedly counteract how overpowered the item is, Blizzard decided to make it nigh unobtainable. I never subscribed to the idea that this was a good way of handling an extremely overpowered item. It simply shouldn’t exist, or be heavily nerfed. It is as if Blizzard doesn’t take game balance seriously.

I was previously content with knowing that basically nobody had this item, and that it was almost like a mirage, with people even questioning whether or not it even existed. But with the recent events it has become a lot harder to pretend like this problematic item doesn’t exist.

(And also, for the people acting like it doesn’t matter at all, because the next season is upon us in 12 days. Then what difference does it make if they rollback or delete the item from people’s inventory? The answer is, of course it matters, it’s called the “eternal realm” for a reason, it will stay forever.)

Has no problem that builds for PVP is stronger in PVP then PVE builds in respective areas, but what Diablo 4 relly needs is a easy switch for change skills, and parong and Glypes, it take like one Hour to reset everything and make a PVP build just for some fun time, then another hour for reset everything for a PVE build.

Would not be bad if there is allowed for like 5 x Builds for each Class you can switch beetween if you have build them up.

And allow the Switch of builds with Easy E button for the meny bar for change builds.
