Go to your Diablo 4 folder and rename dstorage.dll to dstorage.dllbak.
Some people have just removed the file altogether and it still works. But rename it first, and see how it goes.

- dstorage.dll
- dstoragecore.dll
found in the Diablo 4 folder, into
- dstorage.dll
.old- dstoragecore.dll
.old
worked very well for me!
This does not only fix the login problem with patch 1.3.1, it —COMPLETELY— solved my disconnet problems when using town teleport platforms or town portals.
Before, nearly every voyage through an portal was a freeze and complete disconnect.
This problem has vanished, like it never happened.
The games runs smooth now, like it was intended.
But, if this is causing so much trouble for so many players and we don´t need these files…
Why these 2 files (“dstorage.dll” and “dstoragecore.dll”) does have these problems and what is normaly the benefit of these 2 files? I haven´t found a clue using google.
It can´t be something important, because they are not missing - everything runs better without them.

Have tried this but it is still disconnecting. This bug is making the game unplayable.
I have the same problem. Unfortunately the tip doesn’t work. If I’m lucky, the game can be played for 15 minutes at a time. Otherwise I have crash to desktop. In different moments. When teleporting, when logging in, when changing areas, when entering a dungeon… Take your pick. It’s especially fun when you’re fighting the world boss, have a crash, try to log in again, have a crash 4-5 more times… and when you’re back in the game, the boss is dead and you haven’t gotten any loot . You can completely forget about playing dungeons or the Helltide. Every 4th to 5th crash also manages to freeze the entire system. I now know where my reset button is. 
What annoys me most of all is that the community managers don’t provide any useful information. Apart from the reference to the standard procedures that you should try, nothing comes up.
It would be nice to know if the problem is being worked on. When a hotfix might come or whether players with massive problems should wait for a patch next year.

I change the name of these two files, but the problem happened
I changed the name of the 2 files, i tried adding the dll’s from another site. i have flushed the dns. Someone suggested rolling back the video driver on my PC but not up to doing that. The game is unplayable. Just trying a check files option on Bnet, which will probably take a few hours the speed it is going at.
After it checked files i have done 6 tps to towns including Kyoivashad which always crashed before and only 1 disconnect…could be fixed?
Unfortunately, you won’t get a satisfactory answer from Blizzard here. You won’t get any answer here at all. Apparently there aren’t enough players with these problems yet. The money machine is still working.
agree with this link game is unplayable as keeps crashing. tried all the fixes even reset internet connection. purchased the deluxe edition pity cant get e refund as it feels like wasted money
I tried the .dll fix. It worked for me a week ago but today, the issue reoccurs. This time I simply renamed as others suggested. It appears to progress further and let me play.
Quite disappointed in how engaged they are with this problem. Appear to be heavily focused in finding ways to nerf characters and take their sweet time on fixing the trade.
We shall see.
I am giving up this game. Thank God I got it on sale and didn’t pay the full price. When I got it it was Season 2 and it was all good and fun but since Season 3 this game is a complete joke. Not only the season is kinda boring, I can deal with that no problem. The game is literally unplayable and broken. Soon after the new Season update the disconnects started. I expected it to be fixed very quickly, not the case. It took more than a week, more like 10 days to finally be able to play more than 15 mins without disconnect. But that happiness was short. Just a couple of days and the disconnects returned. At this point, I am giving up this game. It is one thing to have a boring season but to have a broken game is completely another level. I will buy Last Epoch on 21st this month and I am uninstalling this broken joke. Thanks Blizzard for wasting my money. I will NEVER make that mistake again for sure!
