This game is getting boring now!

First of all, let me state this; I love this game very much. And I started this season very happy. But when it came to the PVP area, things didn’t work out that way. The moment I approach a barbarian, I die. And I have no way of escape. What is this? Are we going to helltide every day? Is this the purpose of this game? The best part of this game was PVP. But they killed PVP too. You absolutely cannot even play against some characters. Where is the acting? where is the playability?

Yea, I know. I haven’t been there myself because I already know how that will go. Need another item for an attempt but even then I don’t have very high hopes it will work out for me because I have an exotic build.
This is the gameplay loop: Blood harvest, legion, tree, blood harvest, legion, tree, helltide, blood harvest, tree. Throw in a visit to town for selling every five minutes also and u got the game in a nutshell.
Idk how many times I’ve been to that tree to open up more trees, because that’s what visiting the tree does; enable a tree later on.
Throw in a Varshan here and there, that doesn’t drop your thing and even if it does it’s garbage. Then, after helltides and trees, you go to Duriel and waste some hours there; which is the truly boring part of all of this. Totally trumps the annoyance of tree visitations with overbore. So u farm all that stuff so u get the priviledge of being super bored. And then u do it again. Eventually Duriel farts out the stuff u need, hopefully and supposedly, and then you’re done with Duriel. Once done with Duriel, surely u can enter the pvp? No, not really. You need a specific class with a specific build for that. Aight… so then what? Game over. Hope you loved the trees.
Remember before D3 was released, how they bragged about BILLIONS of builds? Yea, that didn’t work out. There’s fewer builds here but… still just a few of them get you over the top. Most get u mediocre. Gotta go with them balls if ur a sorc, just gotta. Don’t get clever and creative, game’s not made for that.
Idk how difficult it is to do the math for this game, I’d suppose fairly hard… But thing is that one build does 3 damage right, and the other build does 120 damage. The disparity is enormous, and one might ponder on why that is. If it would’ve been like this one build does 3 damage and isn’t as sharp as the next build at 4 damage, then sure… I get that and can live with it too, but like this… idk yo. But back on topic: What we gonna do then? Wait for this to get patched up? Is that the finished product u sold us, blizz? nice job.
Also had fun with the game. Still do. Great mechanics for killing monsters but hey, those boss runs tho… not so good. Core part of the game? Eh, that too… gotta kill duriel, over and over; otherwise no loot. U made a real nasty gameplay loop, super fail. Sure it’s good for materials to have purpose but I was never a boss killer and always a monster hunter who wanted to roam the lands in search of fortune. Now that can’t be done, cause how would the material loop work then; if we could get what we needed off the map? Yea… idk. But I do know that’s what I like to do. And hey, I’m sick of the green and red tint both now. Whatever happened to the regular grounds?? How is it that ONLY the first game was true to what an arpg IS?? It’s a monster slayer, not a boss killer. All arpgs is that, core. Not realising that simple truth is squandering your entire game, that’s what I think at least.

That’s pretty much all what HnS is about. It’s not good, but it’s not bad either. The bad thing is that there are not much activities to do at some point. Killing bosses was the part of D2 also, but there we had a lot of bosses worth to kill. Adding all uber uniques to one boss/activity was a bad idea.

We honestly need some sort of prestige mode with extra rewards for those who do it, otherwise it gets boring as soon as you hit 100, and like you said, the pvp is a joke, we need some sort of pvp only gear that has a stat on it where its only good for pvp, kinda like swtor had way back.

Yea sure. Why not bring out the balance with pvp only gear? That should work. Wouldn’t be too hard to set something up like that. Then maybe u could select a few slots where you put something else, for build variety and that?
Their issue with pvp is balance and with pvp gear that issue can’t be too difficult to deal with. +

Blizzard… There were many calculations before release about PVP dmg. I made one. They said - 93% PVP dmg… They can’t count properly. At the time one streamer reached over 400k dmg with his 4000 HP Barb. Sooo 400k dmg - 93% PVP dmg = over 28k dmg but lets say - additional dmg reduction with full armor reduction 28k - 85% = 4200 dmg, so you are still on 1 hit. Cheez these guys are still on the market. Apparently they can count money but no dmg on PVP.

Most succesful and fun online rpg pvp’s, introduces a locked set of specific power and abilities, specifically for pvp alone, for each class uniquely.
Without the ability to change much if any at all.
Results in fair pvp that only gets more and more fun the more you play it.
And coming out of pvp, you can take all your earnings with you into the pve real world. Fun and rewarding. For everyone.

Had my first encounter today. Barb came at me and did some damage but not much. I couldn’t harm him, however, so I had to retreat. He was faster but I have dash and can boost my speed also. We ended up outside of town.
As he was leaving, I followed. Then he turned to attack me but I didn’t fear him because he couldn’t kill me either. I just went back to town. He tried to leave again so I followed, prodding with arrows. He turned on me again and I just walked back. He tried to mount up, so I did too. Followed and when he turned I turned. Eventually we struck an elite pack and he killed those good but I kept in his face and eventually picked up all the crystals. And then I left as it’s risky being engaged if someone else shows up. Because I couldn’t hurt him no matter what but he could hurt me a little bit. That’s enough for a kill, given an opportunity.
I won: “Tactics mean doing what you can with what you have.” - Saul Alinsky

PvP against someone wearing this 10k Thorn armor for example.

Yea well, it’s not like there’s too many applicable tactics in d4.
Anyway, equipping a thorns armor is strategy.
Another quote, to illustrate the difference:
Strategy requires thought, tactics require observation.” - Max Euwe

I can’t imagine trying to PvP in a game where some builds can do a single attack for 100mil+ dmg. Even at 92% dmg reduction, how could that possibly work.

If I were to try to PvP it would just be for a laugh. This season you pretty much get free unstoppable with Tibaults Will + Vampiric power. If you cant even CC /shrug. Oh and then there is the Uber amulet that absorbs dmg to resource - regen resource with Tibaults + Unstoppable… it’s all a bit chaotic surely?

I don’t recommend taking PvP seriously due to imbalance of builds / classes.

That’s overpowered attacks, which is capped at +150% for pvp from what I’ve read; meaning you will never be hit with 100m as those builds go to something like 2k% op. Or whatever, idk… never run those. But it’s a pve build, not pvp.

The amu’s getting nerfed now for pvp, it won’t work there anymore. But yes, it was at the point people just had to leave; just like I did, because no damage can be done. Which is ridiculous, so the decision to nerf that away came.
I thought cc would be a major headache, so I prepared for that but was stunned maybe thrice or so. He never got close to actually hurting me.

True, it’s just some thing we can do. I’m going to slowly collect for the armors. First one is chest, looking for something cool so I’m hoping it will be something for me.
