Those of you who are not bored, what do you do?

I haven’t logged in for a while as, 6-7 hours of season 1 and was bored to tears with the game. I find it more repetitive, with nothing to entice me to go through that repetition, than any game I can recently recall.

I don’t mind grinding in a game to get something for it, but I can’t see what that is here?

Blizzard have clearly put more effort into the items in their shop, so anyone buying them isn’t going to hide them to wear the stuff than loot drops.

I bought the game and it’s going to be around for a while, so I’d like to play it, but I must be missing something as it’s boring for me.

If it’s not boring and repetitive for you, what do you do?

I just login daily or once in a couple of days, check tree missions and look for Legion/World boss, occasionaly do some NM dungeon and that’s it. I am playing my 85lvl Barbarian with very decent loot (got three uniques and had also Mother’s Embrace, but broke it and hope to find it again on higher level/item power)
The game is not polished yet, needs more content for high level, some events maybe and we hope to see the Expansion sometime in late 2024.

Honestly I currently find the game helps me get to sleep with how boring it is. thumbs up there as I cannot play more than 30 mins without looking for something else to do or going to bed - my sleep has improved drastically btw. D4 is a far cry from D2 and to a lesser degree D3 where I can recall playing with a variety of builds and classes and even some crazy ones just to see how it went. I have no interest in trying new builds/legendaries or classes as the time investment for this feels terrible and is not engaging in the least. the only aspect that makes it slightly less tedious is when I join a friend but even then its barely more interesting unless I am on voice with them and only about 40 mins before I have to log off with the tedium. currently finding more enjoyment from card battler like “slay the spire” and “banner of ruin” as the variety and randomness and difficulty (not the 1-shot mechanics that cannot be played around in D4) are a welcome change from D4 monotony

I have fun.
while the game is not perfect and is really expensive, saying this as a medium income mexican person in comparison for most here, I have fun and never felt sleepy like many said.
But if I feel bored Is just becuz this is an ARPG, repetition and grind is the norm, it happens with POE, torchlight, divinity etc, I played this franchise since the first title so for me is pretty normal to invest hundreds of hours with little to no sleepy feeling.

I know the game will and can be perfected, but at the same time as an older gamer I learned how to apreciate the pros in any game, we had it much rougher than young people now so I really focus on the lore, action and the cool parts of D4.
When you do that is easier to not be bored, also any game can be boring if you play many many hours, games are not designed to be a sustitute for living, many persons play this game like 100 hours just to say is shit…man if I really dont like a game I know this 10 minutes after the intro.

I did not have any problem with bosses(just 2 kills in my first campaign) or with any build, yes there are some better builds but any that came to my mind was viable. The nerfs did not affect me much really , I created a rogue in hardcore currntly level 34 , started after the nerfs and really I was having a blast.

my necro is 70+ and while the grinding is less exciting I dint have any problem killing mobs, bosses in t4. Homever im a veteran an hardcore , played elden ring just with daggers no buffs no magic in new game +1 just for the thrill. Played all diablos with hardcore chars just for the challenge, currently playing for honor in pseudo comp level at 40 years old( in my younger years I was comp in age of the empires, halo 1 and CS) Im saying this because this game for me is not hard at all not even after the nerfs, homever it has some mechanics that can be better implemented. Also I do not condone making the game slower to artificially making it longer in the absence of truly new content.

Now, QOL changes thats another matter , leaderboards, better stash, better gore, mobs density etc, Im totally for it.

But the game is not shit in my opinion nor is boring, but for the price it should be better, with more content .
The positive thing is that it seems devs are moving faster to correct bad implemented changes. I hope they can do it while the game still has momentum.

Maybe because you are bad and don’t know how to play? I don’t know man

Me and many others then, we’re all bad and the game design is just great. Cool.

I’m basically farming a new set of gear as the build has changed. Also I am farming as many rings as I can since I’ve dumbed out on luck with RED socket rings, and I need 2. Got 1…

I take my time in doing things. I like D4 personally even though it is in such a bad state at the moment.

I’m still waiting for a tier 3 sigil to drop so I can start doing some proper NMD’s.
I think that is what I enjoy doing for a lot of the time, broken up by Helltides and world events.

Even if I could rush through stuff I don’t think I would because this season is here until the middle of October, which is plenty of time to play the game. I’m not having a go at people rushing through the game either, it’s your entertainment experience you play it in a manner thats fun for you.

If the game isn’t fun for you then absolutely play something else, you owe blizzard nothing. You can always come back once there is more content available, only thing is no one knows when that will happen.

however the bugs in this season are beginning to get annoying, I’ll be making a large bug post list later on today or tomorrow if I can be bothered.

ppl who are “bad” are actually the once that find the game “Great” because they didn’t hit anything in game probably not even Tier 4 … i thought the game is great untill i finished the story and hit tier 4 to realize there is nothing more in the game .
Maybe you are so Good that you find Rares “Challenging” or so good that you didn’t even finish your renown before season? maybe you are so good that you cant clear NM dungeon +1 ?? or are you so good that you didn’t realize yet that there is no end game here? or are you to good that you have been killing cows outside of town?? are you living inside of a rock or something?

Personally I try out new classes and builds. Keeps me going for a bit

Currently I level up my glyphs at an expected efficiency rate at 13.5% compared to how fun and rewarding it undoubdtedly will
be after 1.1.1 patch. Pain is a great teacher and i need to be taught never to buy blizzard games untill 6 months after release
So i wont have to repeatedly catch myself in a stunned bored stupor ingame. And frothing desperate and engaged on the internet.
on the positive side last week i been doing major plumbing repairs that easily could have been pushed back a couple of years. Thank you for that. im checking it daily. my trust in anything is vaining.
Blizzard. you are such an inspiration. I feel so enlightend and well guided and managed its such a comfort.

And maybe you’re just a simple minded hamster who doesn’t mind running in wheel over and over again without any motivation or chance to improve your character.
You know there are people who require more spirited entertainment. And when they buy a game, they expect it to be final and fun right from the start.

For me, not getting bored in dungeon crawlers is about setting yourself objectives. I like to max level a character and get their gear and build in a place that I am happy with, before starting another.

Having something to focus on and work towards is key to feeling engaged (speaking for myself only here), if I have nothing to strive for then I feel like I am just spinning my wheels and not achieving anything. That would lead to boredom very quickly.

I like to have an idea in my head of what build I am trying to put together, so I can then choose a unique, high roll aspect, other BiS item etc to grind for. When I get it, I tick it off my mental to do list and move on to the next item / milestone / build to push for.

I think that the reason it feels better when you have a campaign to complete, or a quest to finish is because it gives you a clearly defined objective to achieve. Self-defining objectives has been the best way to keep this going for me.

I do like to watch different videos or write-ups of builds, as I find it interesting to see what kind of playstyles or levels of effectiveness people can come up with for classes I play. If I am feeling stagnation with my character, then trying out a different build with a totally different playstyle to my current one helps to refresh my enjoyment of the class.

I am bored from the game so that’s why i lurk in the forums  If only spending time here also awarded xp for my in-game character…otherwise he will remain in the low 80s

I am just finishing up the campaign now, which is how the game is meant to be played.

The story is brilliant and very rich. Blizzard really has set the bar very high this time and titles like Poe2, Remnant 2 etc are going to have to bring the magic if they want to compete story wise.

So, no boredom as yet as I will now be starting dungeons and seasons so there is tons for me to do.

If you Speedrunned the story in 1 day, I can imagine that you are bored but that’s your fault, not Blizzards.

Don’t chug it like a beer, enjoy it like a fine brandy.

I only completed the campaign and an extra 17 levels (so 67) by the time season 1 arrived. I am far behind many people but it’s very samey, both Eternal and Season, which hardly plays any different.

When I want to relax a bit I sometimes do made up activities like for example: run around whole map without a mount. That actually took a while. One day in one region when doing this encountered unusual number of goblins. One after the other, it was like Christmas

In the process managed to discover quite few altars. Found few salient chests, did countless events and cellars .

Next time, I will do similar thing but I will run around each region

I wish Blizz would add more randomness, unusual, things to open world (like goblins or events, for example they could add portals to distant loations etc) as it would make exploring map worthwhile.

I do nightmare dungeons for gear and fight Eccho Lillith with different builds, to figure out what works and not xD.

those who are not bored in this game must be bots or addicts, all others did quit already. dont think they could do anything to get back those players. blizzard is dead soon, very bad company who only cares about money then a good game and are ot even prepared to give any off us refunds! wel i hope they choke on my 100€ money grabbing f…
