To all players new to seasons

Nearly 0, you get 200 renown from 2000 and the lilith statues you collected. In other ARPGs its much needed because of economy and replayability. But D4 leveling experience (outside of story) is just too boring for this. Next leave Wave, when all the casuals have to start over from lvl 1. Because blizz DID NOT communicate seasons to most consoleros.

I’m afraid you are lacking the most important statistic, the average playtime per person. Which is said to be under 200 hours. You can imagine why Bliz didn’t want that statistic on their official release.

Ye bro, thats why you talk all the time. Funny game, but i was at the exact same point. Standing in the city, dont know what to do and opening the forum. And then the rage began.

So, you just didn’t do maths in school?

Besides that, look at all of your lies.

You say 15 million sold

Actual fact

The top-selling game of the franchise is Diablo III along with its expansion, Reaper of Souls, with over 65 million copies sold.

You were only wrong by a factor of 4.

Then you refused to accept that if we have daily time played and number of players, we see around 4 hours is the average. Which is very average.

You take issue with me having 13k hours played. Quick maths puts that at 3.2 hours per day as an average. Well below the average.

You said average playtime was 200. But provided no source and the official source puts it at 12k.

It’s pretty much case closed. :+1:

Seasons and releveling are not a problem for me but renown and bunch of fetch quests will be torture for me instead of fun. They should make 20 renown in dungeon repeatable or i will be out by season 2. Love the farming, combat but running around a map doing fetch quests for renown is so so soooooooooo bad, A rpg is ABOUT farming , looting, making builds. If i need to run around the map wasting time and earning 0 experience than im out by season 2. Lilith staues was a good move and renown should be to. Renown should be earned from any source multiple time not once or they should increase renown gains by a huge margin after you unlock it first time. This is the ONLY problem for me that could be a deal breaker by season 2.

May I ask for a source of your data, I am unable to find the same statistics myself.

Obviously its all in one place, some official page? I’ve googled the hell out of trying to find it.

Obviously I have formed my opinion over false data and would appreciate the official source for future reference.

I’d really like to see this ā€œaverage player playing 13k hoursā€ before I concede.

Oh, really. Did your previous advice relating to your false data not help you here

ā€œJust Google itā€

Diablo players are a specific breed. We love the grind.

Thanks. I don’t see where you are getting the ā€˜average player played 13,000 hours’ on that site?

Quote from your site.

ā€œ2,9 billion hours logged into Diablo III across one year of release is a very good number, but it pales in comparison to how many hours two of the games in the series have, which is staggering.ā€

ā€œOf course, the initial hype of the game has died down over the years, with the 2022 player count a shadow of its former self.ā€

I do wish Diablo 4 luck, but I still think the game need more core mechanics, stuff to do. Come on Bliz, surprise me!

It will get better.

It is great now, but with seasons it get so much better.

Oh, so just the average play time. Over the course of the 1st year when it was really popular. The average of 4 hours a day, equals 13k hours average that year. That excludes seasons that follow.

There are many billions of hours played in d3. It’s insane.

The total number of hours played in 2013 was 2.8 billion. In just 1 year. :exploding_head:

Seasons aren’t comparable to prior games… they didn’t have Renown to deal with.

Huh?

Renown from eternal carries over. :+1:

Blizzard

  • The team is reevaluating what Renown systems will need to be repeated as a part of new Seasons.

  • The portion of the map that has been discovered in the Eternal Realm will remain discovered in Seasonal Realms. The Renown associated with these explorable areas will also be rewarded automatically to each new character.

  • Similarly, Altars of Lilith that have been previously discovered will remain discovered on future characters. The Renown associated with these Altars will also be earned automatically for all new characters.

Where are you even getting the average of 4 hours per day? It is not on that site.

Neither is the supposed 13,000 hours for the average player.

The average number of daily players in 2013 was 2.1 million.
The average number of hours played per day in 2013 was 8.2 million.

8.2 million hours averaged over 2.1 million daily players is 3.9 hours average.

I don’t even want to see an individual list by hours played. Too many players and too many hours.

But, yeah anything under 4 is just average. Like the majority of active players so 2 to 4 hours a day.

That’s a snapshot of one day not 11 years. At its very peak.

No, that’s an annual average for the 1st year. Not a snapshot of one day.
:+1:

I have in 11 years just 1k more in total hours than the average daily players accrued in the 1st year.

1 day, 1 year, neither = average player investing 13,000 hours.

It’s literally right there.

Those are the numbers, average fans love the grind. How else do you think 12 hours a day guys exist?!

I mean, I would if I could, but I have other hobbies, the gym, walking dogs, cooking, time with my missus, visiting family and friends and worst of all, sleep.

Most did it for a year at most, maybe 1 or 2,000 hours, you did it for 11 years, in the end numbers were as low as 15,000 playing daily… very few invested 13,000 hours, just admit its a bit abnormal for one game.

No it really isn’t.

Because of seasons.

The entire point of seasons.

You know
