Too many one shot abilities

I keep getting one shotted by all kinds of instant mechanics.

This should never happen, in any game, in any difficulty level. I have no idea why I have to come here to even say this.

You’re correct it shouldn’t happen this is why you have a Dodge ability.

You also can pick skills which Grant immunity.

You can also use something called positioning.

I don’t think you understand what the word ā€œinstantā€ means. Because I would like to see you position yourself, dodge or use an ability to counter something instant.

I’ve played through the entire campaign as a Necromancer, gone up against every single campaign boss, and I’ve fought most of the dungeon bosses.

I’ve not encountered an ā€˜instant’ one shot mechanic from any boss or monster. I’ve died, yes, but never to a ā€˜one shot’ mechanic. Every single big attack that a boss throws my way has been one I’ve been able to see coming and move out of the way from.

So what enemy are you fighting exactly that’s causing you to die instantly?

All bosses have a wind up animation for their large attacks, or are visually telegraphed on the ground. I suggest you learn their visual cues.

Its not from bosses. I don’t know exactly what they are. Perhaps they are not instant, but it doesn’t really matter. If you are fighting multiple elites at once (very common) there is so much going on, and if you cant survive a hit from any of their abilities, you die. I would consider that instant, because you cannot possibly keep track of everyhing on the screen. Which means, the damage they make needs to be reduced. Or they have to seriously buff the Necro survivability.

Again, I have to ask you what are you fighting?

Because I’ve seriously gone through the entire game while levelling, doing content in both World Tier 1 and 2 and never encountered a one-shot mechanic.

Beyond World Tier 2 the game gets considerably harder, so if you’re getting one shot there, then perhaps you’re not ready for that mode even though you were able to clear the capstone dungeon.

Maybe it’s time for you to invest into Resistances. Back in D2 the most feared Elites were those with Lightning, especially if you’re melee, where each hits releases a wave of lightning balls… Lightning resist was an absolute must. :stuck_out_tongue:

Would be handy to have a death log to show what killed you.

Yes it would be nice with a log. So you can see what type of damage you took as well.

I know what you mean, games busted im currently sitting with over 80 percent damage reduction, 20 thousand life and get 1 shotted in tier 69 dungeons. The guy saying he hasnt gotten 1 shotted in wt 1 and 2 well thats because its wt 1 and 2. The game is dark souls, you cant make any mistakes, and with 50 monsters on my screen and the affixes for nm dungeons its impossible to dodge everything. Blizzard needs to nerf the monster damage because no way should i be getting 1 shotted with 80 percent damage reduction and 20 thousand life.

Yes. 65 and up dungeon lvl dosent matter how many resist or dmg reduct. Its so fcked up…

Uninstalled the game. Also one of those reasons. You cross patch as a Sorc with 2 or even 1 strong ice affix Mob Boss and you’re praying that you don’t die. It’s mind boggling difficult to find reasons why someone would design a class (Sorcerer) so bad and weak compared to the others. Will follow up if a) the loot table was reworked, b) the gold-wall has been removed for respecs and c) the sorc uniques are doing more than forcing a sacrifice, while all other classes have best in slot items as unique. No, I don’t want to play other classes. No, an autist one-shotting Uber Litlith with a crazy ball lightning build is not a reference.

Imagine Blizzard advertise a lot Hardcore, dven though youtubers like wudijp. how to play hardcore in a game with perma CC ftom mobs and one-shot mechanics everywhere?

All of this assumes a reasonable ping… That’s adorable and realistic if you’re not 200MS out of sync… at which point none of this applies and you’re dead.

The number of times I’ve had my corpse squarely outside of rendered strike range only to be told ā€œYou’re dead, sucker!ā€ā€¦ Ditto for waiting on the immune skill to proc…

This issue is exacerbated when you level up because your kit remains garbage for long stretches while you grind for something useful…

This is likely a reason for all the incessant whining about scaling… You end up praying for kit upgrades before you level and start getting spiked… must say, there is nothing less fun…

Or… Stop blaming the servers or game for a ping issue when you know you live in a country with bad ping, buttercup.

Or, you could be honest and start a post crying about ping as

ā€œI live in a country where below 200ms ping is impossibleā€¦ā€ and continue from there, instead of the disingenuous nature of omitting that detail and intimating it is the Game’s issue.
