Just throwing this out there, but I feel anyone who has achieved level 100 on HC should be log checked by Blizzard to see if they actually played their character to achieve it rather than standing at the entrance of a dungeon getting power levelled from someone else.
There needs to be some sort of quality check and integrity around a race like this. Would be very cheap win if this was the case and would rub a lot of nerves raw for those of us who have been actually working for it in an ethical way.

The integrity piece is it’s a competition to get to 100 HC for a place in the top 1000.
If people have exploited, paid for levelling services or stood at the start of a dungeon while other players carry them to 100 HC, this should disqualify them from the race.
This has nothing to do with D3.
How is boosting exploiting or cheating? It is a game MECHANIC since the early days of diablo.
Do you know what integrity means? Now apply that to a competition setting where you are in a race with millions of other people.
Imagine, being in a running race and a runner jumps in a car and drives for 5km’s while everyone else is running…THEN claiming a win thinking they legitimately ran the race…
What if the organizer of the race said you could do whatever you wanted? Am i wrong for taking the car to the finish line, or are you a fool for using your feet? Sure, you got “principles” and “morals”. I got the win. See how that works? We each got something at the end of the day
Sure, if it was implied OR in the details of the rules which it was not.
Everyone knows right from wrong and doing things ethically versus cheating and cutting corners.
Using your example, I guess it was ok to use the infinite elite monster spawn bug in certain dungeons too then…
But you say “Everyone knows right from wrong”. How can you say that when I don’t think it’s wrong and you think it’s wrong. That is not everyone now, is it? And to answer your 2nd question, of course it was ok. Is this your first ever blizzard game? It is always like this, 100% of the time. If there is a bug, you exploit it to your hearts content till they patch it. You can choose not to, as you did. But then why come here and cry when others are doing it? Same as in wow. Same as it has been forever. You just seem bitter that you did not use those methods, and want to bring other people down to your level.
There is a difference between constructively raising something by removing emotion to being extremely emotional and irrational.
And there is a difference between boosting and cheating. See how that works?
Correct and exploiting bugs for the sole purpose to level faster OR create an unlimited source of something that is unintended is cheating.
Not to mention the gold and drops that would have been generated that came from this, also unintended and should never have been in circulation.
Ok, maybe I don’t understand what you are trying to imply. Can you explain how boosting is a bug or an exploit? You group up, as intended, go to the dungeon, as intended, and then some, or all of you, contribute to kill the mobs inside, as intended. Please, and I mean this with all honesty, what exactly is buggy or exploitative about this ?
Boosting while standing at the front of a dungeon and not killing anything in a bid to get in to the top 1000 while in a race is the issue.
Boosting in itself isn’t an issue, hence why they should do log checks to see if people actually participated in achieving the spot in the race.
Then we can deep dive into services offering this for RMT.
imagine how many levels you could have done already instead of crying on the forum about how you are so badly mistreated in this world because others use the mechanics the game gives you and has given you for decades before

That’s a lie. In D1 didn’t have a share expereince when players are in a group killing monsters players have to get thier own exp from monsters. Diablo himself may granted players exp regardless being in a group. Group by being allies.
There’s cheating mods that added thier stuff into the game which is no longer D1 instead a different type of game.
