Got a 2nd item with +1 companion on it. But you can only have 1 instance of the aspect on any of your gear. To get +2 companions, you need an item with +2 on it, you cannot have 2 rings with +1 companion on each.
Of course you only find this out AFTER you imprint… so it’s a complete waste of time, blizzard really knows how to waste our time by not providing critical information.
The unused item will be greyed out, it will also be the weaker version of the duplicate aspect. ie one might offer 20% and the other 10% the 10% will be greyed out.
I didn’t even know rings can roll + companion. Only seen it on amulets
Rings, Gloves, Amulets and Weapons
You can only have 1 of any aspect, they don’t stack if you put them on multiple pieces of gear.
I would have thought this obvious, otherwise there would be some truly silly builds. However, perhaps they need to mention it somewhere. Even greying out an aspect’s bonus if it is on additional items of gear so it is a little more obvious to folks.

Why would it be obvious? Why allow it if you can only have one? Why shouldn’t you have 4 items all with companion on them, that’s 3 items without other specific aspects… or buffs… having 4 only means 4 of one type and they should stack up…
The game is stupidly difficult already, with multiple enemies all with stupid amounts of hitpoints dropping garbage loot…
Really wish I hadn’t bought the game sometimes, it looks great etc… but the game balance is shite.
Oh you were refering to the aspect that gives +1 companion. I was thinking you were talking about the affixed that gives +1/2/3 companion skill level
I thought it’s pretty obvious aspects are unique and can’t be stacked lol
It’s actually greyed out in the character equipment screen when the effect is already given by another piece of gear.

They (Blizzard/Diablo 4 representatives) addressed and confirmed how this works many many times in the 2 months leading up to launch when asked by the community on various online mediums. This is more of a personal research boo boo.

Thanks, makes sense. As i had not tried to stack aspects had never seen it.
It should be obvious, as it would allow silly over powered builds.
