I’m sure there are many other stories out there of the same thing happening, but like others I accidentally completed the ‘welcome back’ booster quest on a level 50 character as it came across as mandatory. What I didn’t know was going to happen however, was it auto-finding all missing altars of Lilith.
This, in my opinion is an utterly ridiculous feature, (which was also never mentioned in the quest text, so how the **** was I supposed to know this was going to happen) that does nothing but detract from the game and the quality of the experience.
No, I dont want to be handed everything on a silver platter for simply logging in, I find absolutely zero satisfation in that. It has completely ruined my progress on the adventure aspect of the game, which I was actually thoroughly enjoying up until this point. Now rather than feeling a sense of reward and fulfilment at finding all the altars and for each little stat boost, I now feel like a mug for wasting all that time running around searching for them.
I understand this is not game breaking, and doesn’t affect the story, but it is just totally unnecessary, and my personal experience with exploration has been ruined.
On top of this I have contacted support who have just said ‘sorry cant revert progress’ which also seems ridiculous. I don’t see a good reason why this cannot be reverted.
Rant over, blizzard please fix.

It is written in the feature though.
"You can select 1 Character on the Eternal Realm to instantly grant the following boosts:
- Boost to Level 50
- 3 different powerful builds to choose from for your given Class
- Full set of Legendary Items
- Completed Skill Tree to suit chosen build
- All Altars of Lilith unlocked
- 1 million Gold, 1000 Obols, 1 Scroll of Amnesia, and Crafting Materials"
I’m not the most attentive with this kind of thing but I read altars of Lilith unlock, though it didn’t matter as they were all unlocked anyway.
However, I can’t see why Blizz cannot reverse that particular altar aspect

Im all for exploration and discovery in games, but finding altars of Lilith is a pretty mundane task, and tying player power to them was a big mistake, as it turned altars into a mandatory chore instead of a optional activity. Blizzard realized this mistake based on feedback, and as they often do, they chose the wrong solution. Instead of removing player power from the altars, they made them a one time thing, and added a option to completely skip them through the boost. What they should have done instead was remove the player power from the altars, and left them in as a optional collectible.
Im sorry your exploration was ruined by this, but i cant say i blame the people who just wanna skip this task, as exploration and collecting is not for everyone, and should not have been made a mandatory thing.

I’m totally with OP on this. I don’t exactly look for the Lilith statues but I enjoy it when I find one. It adds to my exploration. I didn’t even know this until now, because I do not want to be boosted!! But Blizzard is showing that thrice damned Booster quest down my throat! All the time!
I have an active quest, until I don’t, because I crossed into another area. So now I have that three times three damned Booster quest again. This is so invasive and so irritating.
And it is an insult too. They probably think I’m so stupid that I haven’t noticed there is a Booster quest, so we better show him! And do it again and again and again!
Who thought this was a good idea? I have thousands upon thousands of hours in all 4 diablo games. I’m fully capable of choosing my quests myself Blizz!
But perhaps it is me being stupid afterall? There actually is a way to avoid this? If there is, please enlighten me. I will be eternally grateful.

I missed this as the post was made over a month ago, and I’m not always up to date on the forums. The fact nothing was mentioned in game is what feels so disruptive, and people aren’t always going to google what happens when you complete a quest.
@Savator
Totally agree, locking power to them is the issue really. Skip should definitely be available to those that want it, but it should 100% be clear and separated from a nagging ‘important looking but completely unnecessary’ boost quest imo.
@Futtamukka
Try going to Options, Gameplay, then scroll all the way down to Navigation assist. Disable ‘Auto-pin new quests’ and see if that helps. Hopefully it does, but if not i’ll keep my fingers cross for you and all others that dont want it that it eventually dissapears.
Hoping that if enough noise is made about this it will eventually be reversable, or at the very least Blizzard will realise this is not the way to force feed content and avoid griefing their player base for no good reason.

i love your solution, funny the 100s of ppl working on this project couldn’t come up with this
Player power added by statues by rework in S4 is completly irrelevant.
Even tho it gives you like +80 each stat , it wont affect almost anything.
If we talking about D4 vanilla, then yeah power boost was in early/mid game recognizable…and I was(believe not the only one) fan of not transfering altars to next season, coz you would start a way stronger(like they admited in fireside chat).
But in the end game it had not a big impact - I until this moment have not explored all of the altars
I believe this was horrible move from blizzard especially for new players and even more ridiculost thing is that that welcome Q cant be removed, or hidded and ALWAYS appears 1st when you change location. Only way to remove it is commit the boost to 2 chars(if you bought expansion as well) and delete those chars.
Unfortunetly all the statues will be explored by this move - it’s completly unbeliavable, who had the super great idea to come up with this, I dont understand.
