Where's offline mode?

Concerning the major server issues I start to wonder: what ever happened to offline modes? Whatever happened to saving your game on hardware? And choosing to go on-line if you wished. Considering the major lag spikes etc I suggest offering this option before the major launch. I expect problems and nothing kills a hype with a bad launch.

Offline mode has become something like the distant past, forbidden fruit, auto-taking away opportunities. Unfortunately, aside from the server issues, live service games can be turned off just like that, delete the time spent on the game just like that. But no one thinks about it, blinded by the “only” way - online.

Can’t show off the future mtx “cosmetics only” skins that other players will have if it had the option for offline…which is funny considering the indie studio who made Last Epoch has both online and offline and will have cosmetics.

Theyd better invest their time into offline mode then useless pseudo mmo features

I work like 60hours a week. Let me tell you that often I just want to play by myself while having a drink, to remove the stress. Multiplayer is the last thing I want after a hard week. Hope they get enough complaints and let us play offline.

Damn, good to read that I’m not some weirdo. That’s exactly how I feel about gaming.

Just before getting dc’ed and a bunch of errors, I was changing my skills near some dungeon. Twice in the span of 5 minutes I had a message pop up saying “(player) would like to team up with you”.

Either rebrand this game as Dibalo MMO (which IMO if it wasn’t for the Immortal backlash, they would have) or make an offline mode or drop the MMO garbage altogether.

This was never supposed to be offline mode/singleplayer game.Literally no one promissed that + its been said back in 2019 its going to be open world game.

Where you got the idea to ask offline mode when it wasn’t even planned, ever?

I guess it’s obvious. Developers want feedback and here it is - there are players asking for offline mode. What’s your problem with that?

Feedback in your case doesn’t mean asking blizzard to roll back game developement 4 years back, just so they can add offline gameplay.

Whole game is based on damn open world, can people comprehend that please?TY

Asking for offline mode or singleplayer is like asking them to start from 0 and remake whole damn game.

And anyway, people who are too scared to socialize in games are minority.Go play d3 if u want solo mode.

And again. What gives you the right to decide what feedback and what requests other people have?

Because you are asking for stuff that literally cant be done,i mean…what’s the point of asking?

You are asking from blizzard to postpone game for another 2-3 years,do you have any clue what are you even talking about?

Man,you and others like you are funny,i swear…People who have no clue about how games are done, and how long it takes for one simple system to be added, let alone to change whole game.

I have every right to ask for anything, even a pink werebear. Especially in the case of a product, a paid product whose creators ask for an opinion. Why do you have a problem with the fact that the game can just have an option. And it can be done, not for the premiere, I can wait, but it would be nice to have such an option.

Not everyone watches the entire list of “promises”. But to answer you simply: Diablo was never intended as an on-line-game-only format so to divert from that path isn’t only risky, it’s also very expensive and effortful. None of which has proven yet to be fully justified or received with great satisfaction. Evidently.

I’m just a dude who loved the franchise, nothing wrong with asking - even if it’s post-hoc, for improvements now is there?

Diablo 4 is Diablo Immortal without the predatory monetization.

And that is the problem. It is so easy to put it in later, that it feels like there is a big hole, where the cash shop should be. I do not trust Blizzard and I do not trust Activision.

I agree with the rest.

There’s no good reason to get rid of single player mode.

You had it on Diablo 1 - 3. Why not on 4? Because, reasons.

Reasons you won’t give, Blizzard, because it would make you look bad.

Reasons that would reduce pre-sales and thus your profit.

It’s always the same these days.

  1. deny everything
  2. sell product
  3. Impement every bad thing later (patch)
  4. Send everyone a big f*** you (because we have your money)

That is what always happens and people will not learn.

Actually, just the same as elections are done and how democracy works (just replace product → election runner, money=votes)
So, Blizz just implements democracy methods in gamepublishing.

Or single player at the very least. I know why they want you connected and that’s worked fine for D3. Can be by yourself and enjoy the game. (Not sure if non-season had a full offline mode implemented, but obviously seasonal/ladder has to be online to avoid people who cheat).

offline mode=hackers dupe gold/weapons free level up to 100

not necessarily. Like in the old times you could start a character online and offline. Your offline character won’t go and play with online and your online won’t go offline. And that was good.
