Why DDoS attack still a problem in 2023 for big company such as blizzard entertainment?

I have an SME website mounted on Cloudflare, the server using the AWS t3.small instance only, also without using technologies such as auto-scaling and load balancing. Recently, just relying on the free tier service provided by Cloudflare, it has successfully defended attack of nearly 600,000 malicious requests within few hours.

I believe that the paid-for functions of commercial companies should be more powerful. I heard that the sales volume of D4 has reached a new high, but there have been kept having familiar problems since it was released, why are you unwilling to invest a little bit more in your server and tech team to give back to players, Blizzard?

Because it would cost money. And every dollar spent on improving service is away from Bobbys new yacht so why would they.

Because all they can do Is Reset and make ppl regear/relvl each 3 months with couple of new legendary effects with cosmetic rewards from doing 50 dungeons 50 side quests and clicking 50 altars of lilith and killing 500 spiders instread of making actual content for the game ,
i think that basically explains why they get DDOSed aswell
