I downloaded the pre-release patch over the weekend, thinking I’ll just come home from my night shift today and play a few hours. Saw some 250MB day1 patch, but as soon as that download finished, instead of applying it, it started downloading the whole 38 GB patch I already downloaded over the weekend. WTF?
Cool. Another day wasted I guess. Well, since this thing won’t go faster than 1MB/s due to potato servers, I guess I can just shut it off and download it later when I go to sleep.
Part of the fix that was causing the delay in launch meant we had to invalidate some of the preloaded data so the new version could be downloaded to replace it.
Apologies for the inconvenience and hopefully you’ll be able to grab the new downloads without too much trouble!
For anyone running into slow download speeds, be sure to check out the steps over here:
LOL to maximize download rate you must set it to ZERO the instruction says…BUT the system defaults it to 1 and so not possible to set it to ZERO…OMG FTW.
I hope its going to delete the original 38 gb I pre-downloaded because the new 38 gb patch is just adding on to my folder size and I have not got that much space. Thinking I should just delete D4 and be done with it.
there went the hype… good thing they didn’t had time to test the game…why the hell did i even bother with preloading the game if i am back at step 0… not a fan Blizzard, not a fan…
