(PTR Season 4) The new crafting system is significant and interesting but now the unique items are almost all negligible.
A little while ago it was said to upgrade unique items to make them desirable compared to the equipment you normally craft.
We need to intervene on the enhancement of unique items, because at the moment it is too limited compared to the enhancement of legendary items.
So, with the exception of ubers, most unique items are less powerful.
I think there are some build defining uniques and some others that are still useful, but not being able to temper them is a gigantic nerf to uniques!
But its easy to fix: Simply allow tempering ^^.
If not 2 temper stats than at least 1, but maybe without any restrictions to the temper type
[EDIT] There are some outdated stats on uniques as well, where legendarys already have a higher base stat. That needs to be updated.
Yes, I think the same, now I only add uniques when I absolutely need them. I have been avoiding builds that require unique weapons from the beginning. The overall idea behind the changes introduced in Season 4 is great, but they are missing some balance checks. For example, key passives are completely unbalanced across almost all classes right now
Unique should feel like Uniques. And have way more Affixes and stonger stats. And what happened to that “You can only equip one Unique at time.” philosophy?
You still can’t equip 2 same unique swords or rings. This was always that way and nothing changed
Yes but it would make Uniques more Unique if they really had way more and rarer Stats. One Unique per build, rest Crafted, Runed, Gemmed and possibly 2-4 Set Pieces. But Set should be balanced and extremely Rare and not BiS in every situations.
Sets will be probably back in DLC<most of diablo dlc did introduce set bonuses.
Yeah and they need to be quirky niche, not mandatory BiS for everything.
Now they can make infinite season loop >Legendary affix bonuses>unique >sets>and go on forever with really doing nothing with this game.
I’m very disappointed with “unique” items.
I have been playing B;izzard games since 1998 including D-II and D-III.
Recently in D-4 as Sorcerer I worked my way from Level 70 throught to 80, accumulating 18 unique items. Without exception, each was significantly lower in attack power, armour, thorns, life, etc. than my already equipped Rare and Legendary tempered/upgraded items.
In addition, their attributes were mostly of little use to my character.: resistances, impairment reduction and cooldowns when I’m looking for damage, armour and life.
Now I don’t think I’m such a super player, so I suggest Blizzard management explain the current rationale behind “unique” items.
