Games are FANTASY. We can RAISE THE UNDEAD and throw LIGHTNING FROM OUR HANDS. Why for the love of god and all that is holy can we not also choose a body appearance that we like in a FANTASY GAME THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH REALITY.
Do you genuinely not realize that under the the guise of “inclusion” you are doing the EXACT OPOSITE and EXCLUDING people who want to actually like their characters!! You are imposing the belief systems of some people over other people! You are FORCING woke agenda ! That is what white people did to black, they imposed what they thought was right and screw the others who need to be put in their place. How, just how can you possibly justify such a decadent thing ?
I used to look up to this company as a beacon of greatness in the gaming industry. I loved every game you made. The games from blizzard gave me some of my best memories, and as things started getting worse and worse with the released games, I held on to hope. But diablo 4 crushed that hope. My absolute favorite class, the druid makes me literally sick from looking at my own character and I cannot play it. I have no choice but to play the mage because it’s the only class that has reasonable appearance. I’m dissapointed beyond words. The company that was the hero of my childhood is now excluding my preferences in a FANTASY GAME because it doesn’t align with some bullshit RL political agenda that has ZERO value for making the game better and ZERO financial value, unless we’re talking about some bullshhit score in a report for investors, ESG or some such crap. This is beyond words.

so it’s woke u have to play a character not designed to ur specifics?
adds value to me that the characters look different. too bad it infuriates u but it’s a problem u have and have to come to terms with. characters look different, it’s how it always was and how it should be. and no, u don’t always get to choose. and to cry woke about it is cringe. it’s u projecting ur political agenda onto a game and its characters, not the other way around.
on the druid, it’s a vitality kind of character; so it’s bulky to fit the theme. the barbarian is a mighty warrior, and so it’s muscular, to fit the theme. the wizard is a clever spellcaster, so a bit slight to fit the theme. rogue’s an agile fighter, so its small; to fit the theme.
themed characters aren’t political, u r.

When places like the UK and Portugal went to Africa, they found slavery and subservience to be a ready made system that had been in Africa for centuries. Chiefs were selling slaves liberally. You can’t therefore accuse whites of creating that, or indeed call slavery racism, as that would be calling out the existing hierarchy.
Slavery and the slave trade was abolished throughout the British Empire by a white. William Wilberforce.
Are you saying it’s woke?
So just what sort of character do you want to look like?

@Bombus:
Vitality you say? How exactly is being morbidly obese considered full of vitality? If there was indeed a theme of vitality to it, then even if it wasn’t to my liking, your argument would have made sense, and I would not have posted in the first place. But seriously, morbidly obese is NOT vitality.
@shaolin:
and all of those points combat mine… how exactly? You’re doing nothing but reinforcing what I said.
- black enslaving black doesn’t absolve whites for enslaving black. In fact skin color is completely irelevant. Forcing one’s will upon others is wrong regardless of skin color.
- I don’t see what the point is of who abolished slavery. It was still just as wrong in the first place. What are you trying to say exactly?
the woke movement says all the right things while doing all the wrong things. that is the problem. abolishing slavery was DOING the right thing. so no, it is not woke.
How do I want my character to look? similar to the mage, like a normal human being. Is that too much to ask? then fitting to the theme at the very least. But for the love of god, the barbarian looks like more of a druid than the druid. The druid looks like a couch potato who hasn’t seen nature in 20 years.

The body positive part of Blizzard conveyed their emotions towards themselves so that the players could feel it too. Apparently there was such a message

I’m pointing out that whites didn’t enslave blacks. They took part in it for a limited period, then abolished this centuries old African born custom.
Incidentally, the rogue looks like a film producer or a computer geek

To be fair they didn’t do it because it’s WOKE as you stated.
They did it because it was making sence for the story of that class
so for example DRUID fits perfectly it is basically fat barbarian from the forest that can manipulate earth so he didn’t have time to hit GYM like barb they were focused on learning spells…
Barb fits also perfectly reminds me a lot of CONAN the barbarian
necro? it’s basically edgy dude with emo in his blood everything is terrible around him so he manipulate dead and summon them.
sorcerec also fits perfectly so i don’t know what you are saying.
But i agree that people should have option to change if their druid is fat or more like D2 druid.
erm…
So the lack of character customisation makes this game Woke
?
Now that’s a new one.
Do you need a hug
in your safe space
OP?

Poor guy who can’t look at his character’s ass without feeling stupid because “oh my god, she’s fat.” If that’s all your argument is, I think you have a problem, and no, you can’t sell it as “woke” or that being obese doesn’t mean you have vitality.

The barb should hit the gym more tbh

@ Parazac, missing the mark by a mile and going on the “attack” by pretending I’m part of the woke culture when I’m clearely not? What’s the logic behind that anyway?
Let me clarify then. what games this, and other games woke, is making characters intetionally ugly or unattractive in some way and locking down the ability to make said characters pleasing to the eye due to a political drive to enforce “body positivity”, which again, in woke style, is a good concept, but in practical application it was turned into glorifying unatractiveness and serious health conditions such as morbid obesity while shunning and vilifying attractive features. But you don’t really care about arguments do you? It’s far more comfortable to do baseless childish personal attacks and congratulate yourself on “showing someone up”. Well congratulations. You’ve “put me in my place”.

When the subject of your post is “Woke activisim is destroying the game” what kind of response did you expect? There is nothing in this game making it Woke.
And i did not go on the attack, I even offered to give you a hug to make you feel better
Also, on your other comments, that is not Woke
but instead are Stereotypes
:
- Druids tend to be fat.
- Barbarians tend to be big and heavily built.
- Mage/Rogue tend to be thin.
As for your pleasing to the eye
comment, well that all depends on the individual on what they consider pleasing. I do not see anything with the characters being displeasing to the eye based on my decades of playing RPG style games.
In fact all the class character’s seem like the typical gaming Stereotypes.

Friend, I feel the same. Exactly the same disgust from the characters. The only successful hero is one of the versions of the male barbarian. The rest are some kind of freaks.

What is wrong with you? It’s a fantasy game. In a fantasy game a fat character can’t be vital?
And Blizzard should have asked you how to design their characters? Yeah…
Is it woke that i can’t play a skinny Barbarian? Or a fat mage?
Play a game where you can edit the look of your character and stop with this brainwashed woke whinning. Makes you look like an idiot.

Well he still has a point. I liked my ama or sorc look in d2, and i could make my d3 dh look sexy as hell, now the rogue looks like a transgender
A certain segment of social media has rotted your brain.
In general activism is destroying games.
- Star Wars
- Fable
- Borderlands
- Assassin’s Creed
- Titanfall - Apex Legends
- Battlefield
- Saints Row
- Alan Wake
- Dragon Age
- Tomb Raider
to name a few…
But changes are coming, Ubisoft is a good example. Tencent trying to remove DEI practices from their games and now they also want to buy Ubisoft. In the non-gaming world Toyota has also went full anti-woke.
So just give it time and things will settle. These things just don’t sell. People aren’t playing to be reminded of these issues.
Diablo 4, so the Druid is a bit chubby, so what? Maybe it suits the character, had the Rogue been chubby, that would be weird. How are they supposed to be moving so fast?
So despite there being some slight activism in the game, it’s not at the point where it should be a problem. It could be much worse and let’s hope that will never be the case.
