11 Bonus Stars Requirement

Hello again, everyone! I’ve been searching for the answer to this question, but can only find vague information, so an input from a Blizzard rep would be greatly appreciated!

How high up the Legend ladder must a player be at the end of the month to get 11 bonus stars? I know it varies from month to month, but what is the rough estimate for Standard in EU?

The 11 stars are insanely helpful for the climb back to Legend, because you can climb incredibly quickly even after D5. I have been enjoying some meme decks recently, but I have started dumpstering over 1000 and was wondering how much room I have left to meme.

You get the same no matter where you finish in legend.

Unless I am misremembering, that is not true. First month the system came out, I was experimenting with a lot of decks, so I finished at around 4000 Legend and only got 10 stars. Last month I finished at around 1000 and got 11 stars.

Ah I am actually mistaken, it’s 10 for being in legend but you can get an additional star if your MMR is high enough, which I guess would change every month depend on how many people were in legend.

So if you want the full 11 you’ll have to go try hard mode at the end of each month but there’s no way of telling how high you need to be.

That makes sense, Ixnay, thank you for researching it! I really hope a Blizzard rep lets us know what the 11-star cutoff was for the last couple of months, so we can at least have a rough estimate.
The 11th star doesn’t sound like much, but it helps out a lot in the final, most annoying phase of the climb: D5-Legend. On the other hand, I really don’t feel like tryharding at the end of every month.
If we don’t get an official reply, guess I’ll just play what I enjoy and see where it takes me.

then you should post on reddit. not trying to be cute here, it’s just the way it is ;/

Yes, unfortunately…
