This might sound like an odd request but would anybody else like to see the option of asking for a mutual draw, at the start of a game? (Pre turn 1)
I say this because I am so tired and entirely disinterested in playing mirror or near potential mirror matches. For example if 2 mages or priests queue into each other, what would be the harm in offering a draw option that both players need to agree to. The match is then ended and you both re-queue.
I am sure there are 1 or 2 people who enjoy playing mirror matches, but I personally never have, nor any of the few HS friends I have. We build and play decks for their unique characteristics, not to have to play against them in what is often very long and drawn out affairs.
I can see a few down sides.
It could make balancing even harder as you don’t always have to consider the mirror. So say for instance you’re playing tempo Mage but the big control deck also happens to be a different mage deck. You get to dodge one of your main counters.
At top end legend it would make it very easy to try an manipulate the system. Just have your friends all play the same class.
Well you only get to dodge if your opponent wants to dodge you, i’m not really sure who that’s granting an advantage to.
In regards to your second point, well i’m not sure how your friends playing the same deck as you benefits you either? Surely if you’re intending to do something sinister, you wouldn’t be dodging? They would be deliberately losing to you? I’m not sure what else you could mean by that.
Well I dodge you because I know I’m unfavoured, you dodge me because you don’t want to play the perceived mirror. So I gain the advantage.
Well you can’t both win if you queue up against each other, so there would be plenty of occasions were you can deliberately avoid lowering your friends or your own rank (whoever would have lost). Obviously win trading as you pointed out does this way better but that’s against the rules and several players have gotten banned for that. Whereas you can’t take any action against people using an in game mechanic to cheat the system.

But you don’t know you’re dodging an un-favoured deck, you could be dodging the mirror? I don’t see what advantage you gain really if everyone has the same opportunity.
Well if you’re not lowering your friends rank, somebody else will. Them scoring 0 against you does nothing to impact the ladder, they just have to play 1 extra game to move up or down. I actually think having the option of avoiding / drawing with friends just adds to the positives.
I also think you’re over looking the frustration people feel playing long, drawn out mirror class matches and how it negatively impacts their overall experience. I know this is real because i’ve seen so many priests this week just auto concede to me and i’m left with relief of not having to face this horribly tiresome match up. I’d much rather offer both players the choice.
…because I’m playing the deck that is deliberately bad against (well doesn’t have to factor to be more accurate) the popular deck, so I’m guaranteed to be unfavoured knowing a % of them will auto-draw meaning my overall win % will be inflated by avoiding that matchup.
Just the price you pay for being a sheep. Typically get a higher wr than the snowflakes but more monotonous.
No way.
If the rest of us has to play against that hideous res priest so do you. You don’t get to play cancer and then whine about playing against mirror.
I’m really struggling to see the logic you’re trying to portray here but I will concede the point regardless. It was an idea I thought made sense and was only suggested with the idea of maximising peoples limited available time. That opinion clearly isn’t shared by anybody else
I very much like playing control decks and accept their games last far longer than an aggro deck, however that doesn’t mean a situation cannot be improved upon. The mirror issue actually extends beyond mirror’d control too, I don’t think many like playing mirror’d aggro vs aggro either. However I will leave it there and call it a failed suggestion!
Your second point just feels unnecessarily rude and a reminder to myself as to why gaming forums aren’t usually a place for discussion, just condescension.

I know quite a few aggro players really like the aggro vs aggro mirror match-ups because every little decision typically matters, as opposed to vs control where it’s just every turn it’s the same, be it maximum damage efficiency or asking the question “can i win if I play around x”.
