After 5 years, where and how to start again

Hello boys and girls

i haven’t played HS in the past 5/6 years. but from it’s release to 2014/16 i played it alot .
now i’m back but prety much confused, becausethere is too many expansions, to many cards, and also new Cards categories and i don’t know what to grind? what to buy? and where to start?
there is also PVE adventures. the last one i have played back in the days was karzan, do i need to play them all? do i need to buy thier cards as well?

I am grateful for any help and tips

Edit: 5 years offline not 6  ty Ixnay

The only adventure that has cards is galakronds awakening and can probably be avoided. The rest are all free and gave out some packs on release but now won’t give you any rewards (I think), except the latest Jania story which gives you 1 mage pack for a fair bit of effort.

You’re guaranteed a legendary in the first 10 packs of each set (not sets you’ve already opened any in 4 years ago, Karazhan was the middle expansion of 2016). So what you should do is open packs in each of the sets released since and get that legendary. Bonus that you now can’t get triplicates of other cards so you’ll also pick up a fair amount of commons to at least consider using. Once you’ve picked up all those guaranteed legendaries then see which you wana keep, dust the rest and make a deck. (Oh check to see if the wild adventure Knights of the Frozen throne still gives a free Death Knight for doing the prologue).

For early grinding, you get given enough of the new class, Demon Hunter, cards to make a fairly competitive deck, so I’d start there until you’ve got all those easy to get legendaries.

Another thing you could do is check out battlegrounds. It’s a free* mode that got added that plays completely differently to regular hearthstone, but a lot of players have switched over to it (too long to post how it works)

*you can get extra options/stats for gold/£££ but I enjoy it just fine for free.

so i have to buy 10 packs to get one Legendary from old cards?

you mean in battleground?
another question , i have too many wild cards.
do i have to dust them?
i mean alot of epics and legendaries but can be play only in wild mode

If you have been away for more than 5 years you get a free pick on class return. I would pick mage as you get a lot of legendarys from that deck. As Ixnay said as well for each expansion for the first 10 packs you get a legendary card from that set. You should get around 20 packs for free from coming back and doing the quests which unlock as you go through the expansion. The gold you get save a bit or just buy packs from this years expansions till you hit a legendary card then stop. The new mechanic of rare, common, epic card refill also helps.

If you have a lot of legendary cards create a deck you would be surprized how easy to reach legend in wild these days.

Welcome back, Romman! Always great to see older adventurers pay another visit to the Tavern. Good luck getting up to speed again!

Nah, 10 is the most you can go without getting one (so could be in any pack from 1-10) but considering it’s normally 40, it’s by far the best way to start.

Yeah in battlegrounds.

I wouldn’t dust any card that is good or that you like. A lot of people actually enjoy playing wild more than standard and you could easily be one of those people who end up regretting making hasty dust decisions.

But in the end, as long as you follow the only dust to craft rule, you can’t go too wrong.

That’s correct, i had to choose which class i want and i picked Priest. i was about picking Mage deck but I heard a whisper’’ let me change your mind ‘’ so i picked the Preist :joy: and hoped i’m not gonna regret my decision. and to be honst i am enjoying that deck
have to say here Thank you blizzard for this free fun deck.

i have now about 15 packs from different expansion. and also i got like +2500 dust probably from old or removed cards. i also have like +8k dust from my own arena runs back the days, the question is which cards i have to craft

yes i do have old and strong decks like dragon Paladin/Priest, Tempo Hunter and Control warrior which has like +20 legendaries in it. i am gonna try wild any way thank you for the tips.

Thank you Tyrskorn

the problem is, the missing knowledge after all these years to classify which legend is the good one or bad one.
in General i wouldn’t dust any legend unless i have the golden copy of it.

indeed, thank you lxnay for the advices
