Anti-Meta is actually a bad idea in Casual

I’ve been play testing decks from Roffle in casual and noticed something that just cracked me up in laughter. First let me explain Roffle’s deck selection: he tests either meta decks or off-meta decks that are heavily teched against the meta. I’ve been trying some of his own off-meta stuff.

The thing is that he plays in R5 or higher while I play in Casual. Since I play my decks, my Casual MMR is pretty low and I find myself playing against homebrews and other off-meta decks. When I picked Roffle’s heavily teched off-meta decks I found myself losing game after game after game. Why?

The it hit me. I’m playing these decks filled with bad cards that were added only to address specific decks that I’m not playing against.

We can take some learning lessons here, like, think before you pick up a deck, or if you take pride in playing or building off-meta decks consider where you are going to play them, but my point in this thread was my self inflicted face palm and the laughs.
