Any tips for 6000 rank battlegrounds?

any tips for the 6000 rank struggle?

already trying to watch streamers and see what my opponents do and most openings go well ( like if you see sellemantel on turn one buy it so at turn 3 you can buy 2 minions)
but suddenly they have to crazy builds with options that bob never showed me .
i already stopped trying hard focus on 1 type and mulligan more to not spend all my gold on rerolls .
i also look out for minions as dancing barnstormer ( if elementals are in) or other buff minions to scale up quickly but for the past 4 months i only end up in 7th or 8th while the 5000 ~ 6000 ranks felt like a breeze .

its just getting frustrated when you lose for 4 months straight ( oke be fair i was 3 times first in those 4 months but rest all 7th or 8th and i really dont know what els to do :frowning:

What I have learned from watching BG streamers:

  1. Choosing a build early is a hit and miss. You might get the cards you need, or not at all.
  2. Most high rank BG streamers are very fluid. They don’t choose a build early, and they are happy to give up their build and try something new based on what’s offered in the shops.
  3. To really climb in BG, you must not only optimize your own build, you must optimize your build for the opponents you face. Good BG players constantly check the builds of the other players. Most of all their next opponent, but also the entire lobby. And they know which tech cards and which builds are strong against certain builds.
  4. There will always be games where all the stars align and you get the perfect cards offered. And there will also always be games where nothing works out and you never get what you need. In the latter case, evaluate whether you could have made other choices earlier, just in case. And then move on.

tough the thing with optimizing my build i don’t really see to get the hang of that even tough i play since battlegrounds just got released ;( so im starting to fear i have big issues with constructing the big picture in my head even tough i know what my opponent will play .

i am very impulsive by nature so maby that is also not helping as i want to act on the moment and have really problem planning ahead and if i do i take to long and get panicky by the rope.

but i will try to be more flexible with my build like you mentioned and see how that works

A trick that really helps, is if you start noticing your opponents have big minions then take poison minions and leeroy. If they have poision, the divine shield is your friend. Do not be afraid to swap out a minion for a different one if you notice that your opponents have minions you cannot counter without swapping. I’ve won games before by abandoning 3 of my established minions and placing two leeroys and a poison minion because the opponent had big taunts.

I’ll admit I’m not the greatest BG player, but I tend to hover around the 7k mark each season.
