Archmage Vargoth - End of Turn Effect

" At the end of your turn, cast a spell you’ve cast this turn *(targets are random)."
That means that if for example Vargoth casts Eternal Servitude that summons another Vargoth, then that other Vargoth’s effect should trigger in the same turn that it was summoned with the first Vargoth, because the “End of Turn” is still active (End Phase), but for some reason when one Vargoth summons the other, nothing happens. I know that that would be OP, but they should at least change the card text to match the activation of the effect.

The vargoth that got summoned by the first vargoth that summoned eternal servitude wont apply to your second vargoth since the spell was casted when he was not there. and you need to cast the spell to get it activated by vargoth.

But things like vargoth into molten reflection is then a bit strange since it will be activated by your second vargoth to.

But i guess it will copy your card first and then the second vargoth will notice the spell to since the spell played activation will get registered by the second vargoth to.

Do i make any sense on this ? , i need to experiment more with it though :stuck_out_tongue:

The “End of Turn” step only looks at the things that are in play or already waiting to be resolved when it starts. Anything added after the EoT step starts is ignored.

This has always been the case.

If that wasn’t so, playing Reincarnate on Kel’Thuzad would result in a full board of KTs at the end of that turn. A Catrina Muerte that resurrects another copy of CM would also result in a chain.

Yeah it’s definitely working right and nothing summoned by end of turn effects has ever had their end of turn effect trigger.

yep, thats a good explanation, molten reflection ordering is messed up imo and shouldnt be activated

Is exactly that- a step, after that there can be another cycle of resolving interactions. Good example is the Mecha Chtun interaction in a priest deck.
EOT effect triggers - first played minion dies, triggers It’s DR
DR brings Mecha Chtun on Board
2nd and third minion EOT effect triggers, Their DR triggers, AOE self board, Deat check triggers, board is clear, Mecha chtun dr triggers after death check, win.

Also, all END of turn effects take turn in the order the minions were played, same as DR.

Not exactly - at the end of turn Kel or any other res effect returns a Kel back into the board, if there is any effect that kills a minion (like dr - destroy it at the end of turn) depends on order what will happen. If the DR resolves after the Kel res (DR resolve after death check, death check happens last) there should be a new instance of End of Turn effect on part of the new kell, that should res the minion. But not sure what will happen next, most probably minion will die a 2nd time, and as the EOT cicle comes once, it will be not ressed again.

This should lead to 2 Kels on the board
you kill Kel one, He dies and comes back
At EOT he brings 1 kel back. New Kel doesnt detect minions dying, does nothing.

But if you play Reincarnate, then you play a minion, then you play Goblin prank on a beast he resolve should be
EOT - Kell resses another kell, beast dies, 2nd kell triggers EOT effect, you end up with 2 kells and the dead beast, who doesnt have the enchantment anymore and ends the loop.

True

It’s actually pretty simple to explain…your turn ‘ends’ when you press the end turn button which then activates end of turn effects.

Because the second Vargoth has be summoned after the turn has ended his effect doesn’t trigger because the turn has already ended when he is summoned

I was mostly going for simplicity because the OP seemed to be confused about the way the game works and special corner cases would only confuse them more.

Personally I think the Molten reflection interaction is corrected because the second Vargoth is on the board before the turn ends and specifically says a spell on this turn.

I think this is the first example of this type of interaction though, so it’s just one to remember going forward if any other such card with an end of turn prerequisite is printed.
