Asking all Shaman players... WHY?

I will refrain from judgement for now so you guys can come out of the woodwork. Why the hell are you/have you been playing shaman this year? I don’t see any fun in it aside from winning, I guess. I’m just interested in how your brain works.

Thanks,

Baps

Well Baps, As I mentioned in a previous thread, I play shaman for the simple reason I had the relevant cards and did not have to craft as many cards to get a decent deck. It was cost efficient for me. I actually find the class fun to play and it is quite versatile. I can create several decks from this class alone so it is far from soul destroying. Morgl is one of my fave heroes and I love my golden Hagatha the Witch card. However I also play control Warrior and will probably try out Pirate warrior a bit more.

Shudderwock plus cthun is very fun, never touched murloc shaman, been using galakrond shaman in standard now because the game refused to give me any of the meme cards and honestly in still using different decks just none of them so far seem to working out so well

i can hihgly suggest pirate warrior because its fast and awesome

Also i only found one warrior between rank 20 and rank 17 (i skipped standard for a couple of months) so far

for me personally the class is potential fun(ish) but i dont have interrest in the strongest decks to begin with …

my brain is a wierd creature

i think one of the reasons people play the strongest decks is that they dont see the game as a game but more of away to proof their skill through ranking to themself (which imo isnt worht it)

there is always a class/deck of the moment which people rather jump into it without knowing how to play it becuase “inserst streamer of your choice in here” was very successable and they watched a 20 min youtube video so they know the deck and are ready to go to legend…

do it like i do and play what you like yourself and/or a counter deck

i crafted the hunter quest yesterday and i went up 3 ranks yesterday with one loss and its a blast to play.

I play Shaman because binding myself down to a single class is foolish. How can I really counter something if I haven’t played it myself, know it’s weaknesses firsthand?

I play Shaman because the class identity it has is interesting:

  1. Powerful effects that leave you drained of mana the following turn.
  2. Unique cards with effects no other class can easily access (Evolve cards, Zentimo, Windfury effects, Grumble, Shudderwock, etc…)
  3. Massive healing potential (Hallazeal, Jinyu Waterspeaker, Healing Rain, Healing Wave, etc…)
  4. A minion type that, apart from only a couple of cards, is only accessible to Shaman, Totems.
  5. Hero cards that are really powerful in the right situations.
Got a wide board? Now they’re big too thanks to Deathseer Thrall. Or how about a board full of small things and a hand full of spells? Hagatha says hi. Or maybe you prefer to strike hard and fast after prepping up? Galakrond’s up your alley.

well there is a small amount of peoiple who really dont enjoy 8 out of 9 classes it seems to be …

those are not foolish but rather different

I like winning (20 characters)

Thank god hearthstone isnt war so i can fo what i enjoy

Basically this, if you don’t play Hearthstone to win you’re going to hate the game with a passion.

Not really, my friend has hardly spent any money on the game and doesn’t play to win, we just play for shenanigans and we have good fun.
