Zalae has been banned, because of accusations from his girlfriend. I’m not allowed to post the link to the articel, but it can be found easily in the internet.
What has the privat life of one of the contestants to do with his right to attend this tournament? Are you, Blizzard, a superior moral instance to judge the behaviour of other people? If so how about you start judging the behaviour of the Chinese government?!

Because they dont want to have abusers competing in their tournaments. Why wouldnt you take action against that sort of behavior? Is it more important to have a good player in your tournament or to take action against abusers??

moo just because every single girl rejected you in highschool doesnt give you a reason to say that. People like you should be castreated
He is an abuser because she sais so? How about in doubt for the accused. If he is convicted with a crime, sure take action, but until then, maybe you don’t take away somebodies prize for hard work and dedication!
Yeah moo gtfo of this discussion!

Its a lose - lose situation for blizzard.
Suspend the player and you get reactions like the OP
Don’t suspend the player and they get accused of not taking allegations seriously.
This is why in the Hearthstone_Tournament_Player_Handbook_v2.6, this clause is in:
6.1 Behavior.
(a) Players must, at all times, observe the highest standards of personal integrity.
“believe every women never question them”, how do you even know he really is the abuser and it’s not a fake accusation, ppl like you are the reason why so many innocent men end up in jail

guilty until proven innocent?

Blizzard just can’t win here. On one hand I agree with the points being made that an allegation is, until proven, just that. On the other hand, how can Blizzard prevent itself from being accused of neglecting such strong accusations?
I have no idea if the allegations are true. If they are, Blizzard did the right thing, if they aren’t Blizzard owes Zalae big time. Accusing Zalae’s former girlfriend of improper behavior is also bad since we don’t know if this is true or not. It seems to me that until all of this is clarified, attacking Zalae, his former girlfriend or Blizzard or even taking a position on the matter is wrong, however, I’m not sure I agree with Blizzard’s decision. Time will tell if it was the correct one.
In the end you have to make a decision and I accept it’s a difficult situation, but in the end we live(d) in a society which has the principle “preasumption of innocence” and that for good reason, but Blizzard thinks it knows better…
Blizzard’s backbone is made out of bank notes.

How does investigating a Grandmaster make them money?
I think he refers to my comment about China…
The thing is Blizzard should not judge and not intervene on Zalae. The reasons are not for them to judge but the Police if they are involved. If not Blizzard leave themselves open to be sued. The accuser has used a platform to which she attaches blame to Zalae nothing more for an action which happened privately. There have been to many situations like this which some one blames some one else in the past. There are many examples in court. If this does not come to court or any charges its just here say.
People need to not react in this fashion and take stock and let the powers be judge on the matter not companies.
Unfortunately, it does not work like that these days. With accusations like home abuse or racism - it is not innocent until proven guilty, but guilty until beyond all doubt you can prove you did not do what they say you did.
I am not taking sides on this one - I do not know who this person is or whether he is or is not the guy they say he is. That is for the police to determine. Not Blizzard and I am sure as hell that not ppl on forums either.
But you can read up on Kamara vs Kudela in football recently…
