Just a QQ does the battlecry minion have to be on the Battlefield for Barista Lynchen’s Battlecry to activate or is it supposed to draw from deck ???
On the battlefield. 20
ok thx
I’m surprised we haven’t seen more of this card being played, was expected to be quite strong pre-launch
I was surprised when i played her on an empty Field. …
Then i was like … “i dont know what i expected…”
Well, her wording can be interpreted both ways. This seems a clear case of Blizzards “you’ll understand it once you’ve used it”.
I made sure to open her, in the absence of a tempo deck with multiple powerful battlecries she won’t shine, just like Greenskin is now good all of a sudden, it buffs your turn 4 tempo play and delays its drawback, this card really reminds me of Pavel’s totem aggro shaman…damn…he just had to quit, didn’t he…
Haha, I did exactly the same. Disappointment in the card first, then disappointed in myself.
As far as I know, all cards that affect or operate on minions in zones other than the board state this explicitly. So if nothing explicit is stated, the board should always be assumed.
… unless you have also always considered Power of the Wild confusing?
Most likely. I missed a few expansions, so I can’t be sure about it.
No need to be insulting though.
Wasn’t meant to be insulting, I just wanted to show that the same wording is used on other cards that are not misunderstood the way Barista is. I am sorry if it came across as such.
For the record, there are lots of reports in the Bug Report forum about Barista not copying cards, that then always turn out to be based on the same misconception. I don’t know why so many people have this confusion, but there has to be something, somewhere, that causes a significant amount of people to interpret the same words on Barista in a different way than they interpret those words on other cards.
I would never insult someone for misunderstanding something. Even if they were the only one in the world to misunderstand it. And if there are dozens others with the same misunderstanding, I would be even less inclined to insult them.
It might have just been the way I read it then. No harm done though. Let’s give eachother a big hug
This is the main reason why I mentioned that the text can be interpreted both ways (when not taking the other cards in account then). Most of the time cards are very clear in what they do, so this one is a bit of an exception on that area.
