I know there’s a lot of random luck associated with the Battlegrounds gameplay, like the hero selection, then the cards distribution, but when it comes to the combat algorithm, the very least we should expect is a semblance of order in the way the actions take place, otherwise, there’s no point of playing if everything is only based on random luck.
It’s so frustrating sometimes…
Like facing an opponent with one big creature and a lot of small ones while you have many medium creatures that could easily win that combat but they keep all attacking that damn big one until you have nothing left and your opponent have 5-6 tiny things that remain… this is non-sense.
I can accept that there’s luck involved but when a sure thing becomes a maybe or even a loss, you know there’s a problem.
There are way too many unfair things happening way too often in the Battlegrounds combats, things that could easily be solved with the addition of some basic rules in the algorithm, like “creatures never attack/target a poison/venomous one until it gets attacked by it or unless there’s no other choice” (or at the very least, never on the first attack), or things like “a small creature without poison/venonous never attacks a bigger one unless it doesn’t have the choice”.
Those are small things that would make the game way more enjoyable instead of making it so frustrating and unfair most of the time.
I know it’s just a game, but still, this could easily better the experience for everyone by making the game way more fair and enjoyable.
I’m starting this thread so people can add rules ideas that could be added in the combat algorithm to better the game. This way the devs will take it more seriously.
