Just finished a run and was wondering if the matchmaking in the ‘top 3’ is just luck-based in terms of playing the ghost? We played three rounds before I was eliminated after playing Pyramad (lost), Rafaam (won) and Pyramad again (lost). I was 3rd going into the 3 rounds (lowest health) so perhaps that had something to do with it. However I thought I should have at least played the ghost in round 3.
Has anyone else had a similar experience or know the mechanics around the matchmaking?
I always win as pyremid but i also see a lot of people leaving at the start why’s that?
They probably didnt get one of the good heroes

I don’t know for sure, but I’d guess it’s random (apart from it being impossible to be matched against the same player twice in a row unless there’s only two players left).
that would result in a probability of 16.67 % to not be matched vs kel thuzad in 3 consecutive rounds. so this happens on average once in every 6 matches.
alternatively, if you’ve been matched vs either pyramad or rafaam in the round which eliminated the fourth place player, there’d be a 12.5% probability of not getting matched vs kel thuzad in the last three rounds, so once in 8 matches on average.
my point is, while this doesn’t occur all that often, it’s nothing rare either.
