So I have decided to take a step back from playing battlegrounds. The game is unbelievably stale to the point I cannot stand playing it anymore. I did once upon a time enjoy playing the game but it’s so far from that right now.
I’ve played roughly 9-10 games over the past 2 days and it’s not fun anymore. Trinkets have yet again ruined what could have been a decent bg’s season but unfortunately instead of doing something original or adding something that adds fun to the game, blizzard decided to go back to an already stale game state.
I wanted to give an explanation to whoever decides to read this.
- Picking a certain tribe based on the trinkets that you’ve been given is a no go because if the game decides to not give you that tribe, your wasting your gold searching for that specific tribe, before you know it you’ve spent 70 rolls searching for one minion.
- If you get the choice of 4 bad trinket it’s game over, no ifs no buts, you’ll simply fall behind far too quickly with your health slowly being chipped away.
- If you somehow get the option of 4 decent trinkets then happy days…you can build around that (it’s rare but it can happen)
- If your hero choices are 4 low tier choices yet again your going to fall behind very quickly, sometimes before you even get a chance to pick your greater trinket.
- The game will punish you for bad decisions although you’ll feel there was no other option, hence why RNG plays the biggest role in the game with trinkets, 90% of top 4 placements will be mainly down to the trinket choices or hero choices, very slight skill but nothing more than that.
- I searched for Titus for more than 76 rolls during one game, which was all I needed to push for a top 3 placement but unfortunately the game did not want to give me it, after using High Tea Service 6 times, I didn’t see one Titus, nobody else had one either. This is when you know the game is drawn out before the game has begun. It’s impossible after 76 rolls & 6 High Tea Service to not see one Titus…the odds of this happening is so low it’s not even worth working the math out.
I’ll come back for the next season but until then I’m out.

Absolutely. You’ll always see them when you don’t need them, I’ve had it with the game…in the coming months I can see BG’s massively dying off, if the bots in the lobby don’t tell you it’s already dying off…
Yeah, there is a lot of weirdness around with the meta and the rest of the comps. I stopped expecting any sense from these developers, whose max. skill level is equal to a McDonald’s cashier.
I just admire their consistency on one thing, tho. I really love to see that in every season, they are managing to make beast decks more annoying and broken than any other decks. That requires dedication, congrats, HS devs. I want a Big Mac menu, btw, thanks.
This game just showed me, after quite a few attempts how it make everything hard for you:
1.) Trinket system is very unreliable and not all options are on the same power scale in order to offer a equal advantage sprea throughout the whole lobby
2.) This point would have been valid, up until yesterday, but the tribes were quite unbalanced (now with the changes it looks like there are a lot more tribes spread in the game)
3.) After multiple tries and experiences I can say that the game looks like it has a system to keep you place and slow down progress. In multiple instances I had runs where I ended 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 1st and the next 2-3 games the game decides to give you a bit of a handicap when playing (i.e. 1.) in a lobby of 8, 5 people went with pirates and kept on doubling and scaling while the other were going different tribes. I wanted to go demons and tried moving towards demon, I could not see any cards even though the 5 pirate players were scalling. 2.) When playing a “popular” tribe in the lobby and wanting to change, I had difficulty finding the relevant or required cards ffor other comps when I made the decision. Up until then I was seeing the tribe/spells relevant, but when I started the rotate I could not find worthy cards for the rotate).
The 3rd point might be my impression, but after a combo countless fights lost due to luck and having >10% change to lose and “unfair” shops…I am starting to think these are not coincidences.

I m at 3100 rating, playing for a while only in battlegrounds because I like it.
here is the catch, battlegrounds need to feel simple, it s not star wars, it s a game of card, less doesn’t mean empty.
It needs to be, so player have time.
To take a seat, a beer and thinks.
