This is my first post so bare with me
I understand the game is only in beta right now but just wanted to see peoples thoughts on how they feel Blizzard should go about this!
Not sure how it will work. Points based or top 4 progress? Also whether it would be good for battlefy? Or should blizzard intergrate tournaments into the game?

Tournament mode has been suggested from the hearthstone beta itself and i still dont know why they havent it implemented yet after 5 years or maybe because of some reasons down below here…
A tournament tree mode would be nice for any mode if the amount of available players is large enough to sustain all the modes.
Though a tournament mode for the battlegrounds can be quite time consuming.
Lets say a minimum of four rounds that can take up to 2 hours to complete !
Or you just start with 4 players but i dont know if that would be a huge difference in time reduction.
And waiting for the other guys to complete their tournament where the third ice block has been played would not help either 
My favourite tournament mode would be a roll the yogg dice tournament.
Both players have 5 health and the puzzle box would be played each round until the player with the most luck wins the game or something.
Health gained from your previous round would stay with you

I know what you mean. I competed in my first hearthstone tournment yesterday in the qualifier via battlefy. It wasn’t too bad but i just felt like this could have been done so much better!
I got matched with another player and i had to add him as a friend then challange him? I’m not a computer expert but surely there can be a way of making say a tournment lobby? and only registering people can enter then do it all in game?
On the battlegrounds front your right games are long and would take a tournment a long time to complete. My idea would be to have maybe league tables with a points based system so don’t really have to finish first each time. Maybe base the leagues in each given country and best from each country goes to world championships at blizzcon? Could have multiply leagues based on rank currently so someone even at a low rank could get to compete too?

yes, this could be done, but by blizzard only. battlefy has no connection to blizzard. it’s a third party tournament organizer. so they can’t access the HS client. that’s why you need to do it via friend requests and challenges.
isn’t this what the mmr system currently does? you gain/lose points based on your performance and you can check how your point score compares to the best players on your server (EU / NA / ASIA).

I do get that battlefy could not do this just astonished why blizzard havent done this? Is it maybe down to the fact that the game is on mobile and tablets?
If this was a pc only game i guess would make it alot easier to do and send out in a update. Eg space needed for it.
I also understand what you mean about the rank system as it is. I’m just asking about tournaments in general. How would they go about doing it is all im asking and throwing some ideas out there
this would be my guess.
I doubt this will (ever) happen. quite a while ago they announced a tournament mode for constructed, then went silent for half a year until they cancelled it (by delaying it for an unspecified time).
now we have battlegrounds. I think in their eyes battlegrounds IS the tournament mode.
I could be wrong, this is all my speculation here. but if they haven’t implemented an in-game tournament mode for constructed after 5.5 years (while the world and regional championships were held in tournament mode), I can’t imagine they will ever do it.
and in my opinion mobile plays its part in this. a multi-stage tournament doesn’t work too well on a smart phone. for example while you’re waiting, you’d have to either stare at your tournament lobby or exit out of the game to do something else (which will disconnect you from the server, at least that’s what it currently does).
I don’t know the first thing about managing an online game, but even I know that giving your players the option to leave your game is a bad move ;).
I see what you mean! I never knew there was a production of a tournament mode. They should get back on that! if not for hearthstone in general but for battlegrounds. Imagine 8 players in each battle imagine the size of a tournament they could host! Could be the biggest of all time!
I’m a casual player and only recently come back to hearthstone. Actually when i saw the tournament qualifer come up. I entered and went out in the first round but the excitement was awesome. I want that for battlegrounds. I want to rank up in battlegrounds but i don’t think ill get anywhere near top 200. Not because i don’t think im good enough i think im a better than average player but i just don’t have the time.
that was my point: the bigger the tournament, the more players have to wait until they can play again, which is bad for business.
good for business is giving your players the option to immediately start a new game once they’ve finished one. you can’t do that in multi-stage tournaments because every player that has advanced from the current stage has to wait until all games of that stage are completed. only then can the next stage begin.
add to that the difficulties of letting your players wait on a mobile phone.
I’m not talking about a tournament mode for hearthstone im talking about tournaments for battlegrounds. Not sure about you but if i got through a round and i had to wait that would be fine. I would be so excited about getting through that round i could wait for the next!
If this did happen i don’t think it would be for mobile it just wouldnt work. I’m sure most players like me play on phone when they can’t use a computer but play on a computer when they can.
I’m talking about the downsides of a tournament mode for any game mode, including battlegrounds.
I would be fine waiting for the next round as well, but blizzard doesn’t build this game for you or me, but for a great number of people. so whatever they do, it must be mainstream compatible. and I’m unsure if the majority of the player base is patient enough to regularly wait (and thus not engaging with the product).
I also don’t think that it’s a smart move to make a game mode pc-exclusive, especially given that hearthstone seems to be oriented towards the mobile side.
anyway, I know it sounds like I’m talking down your idea. I like it and I would like to see a tournament mode for any game mode very much. I was trying to find explanations as to why this hasn’t happened yet and found some pretty hefty downsides/problems for the developer. I’ll stop doing that now 
Its fine you don’t need to apologise i would always encourage a healthy debate! and you do have alot of valid points which i can see would make it differcult to make this tournament mode possible (eg mobile devices)
I just can’t see how they could out source it throught battlefy as they do currently with some locations having own device tournaments aswell.
As a competitive player i just want to compete it something other than ranked now and then to get abit more excitement out of this already fun game.
Maybe they will just get the top 200 players from each region and invite them to compete which would be a shame for me but still do what im asking just not so widely available to a casual player like me.
