Blizzard - Make Yogg great again

Yogg-Saron -Once the greatest old god of them all (at least in hearthstone). Many moons ago he was stripped (quite unfairly) of his god like status and banished to the wilds where he has remained ever since, unpicked by everyone.

This was during the time that Hearthstone was venturing out into the world of Esports and due to a large number of participants running him they felt the need to nerf him so competitive hearthstone games don’t become entirely an rng fest plus there was many salty tears shed by many a player as he had the ability to swing a game from a lost position.

Was he really that overpowered and in need of a nerf? Well that’s a discussion for another day. My aim in this thread is for them to undo the changes they made to him and the reason the change should be reverted is because he is now in wild mode, there are many more cards that are just as powerful and many decks that have devastating synergy in comparison.

So Blizzard can I please urge you to make Yogg great again, its disgusting how Book of Yogg is actually more powerful than the god its actually based on.

I would be interested in other people’s thoughts on this, do you agree or disagree? Why?

The Bible is also more powerful than the god it’s based on…

Imo Yogg is better now. Especially because we have many cards that generate additional spells.

We had enough generated cards back when Yogg was in standard to make him work fine (Conjurer, tome etc). Its not the amount of spells cast that effect him at all really since when you play him he will often kill himself before he has a chance to cast even 1/4 of the spells you’ve played during the game.

Err…you wanted to revert the Yogg nerf. That means he wouldn’t stop casting after being killed/bounced/transformed/… So the amount of spells cast would affect him.

We had enough generated cards to warrant the nerf. Now we have more card generators (Mana Cyclone e.g.), so I’d say the nerf still makes sense.

There’s possibly been a miscommunication here. I was talking about current Yogg when I said about the spells cast not really effecting him because he kills himself usually within 5 spells.

Also I don’t see how he warrants the nerf in Wild. There are many other decks that are a lot more powerful such as OTK decks, mech decks (snip snap) and murloc decks and these decks have less of a chance for people to counter essentially you need the perfect reply in your starting hand to counter these decks I just listed otherwise your going to lose by turn 5 or be slowed enough to be killed with a OTK deck. With pre nerf Yogg the counter is easy, get the mage low enough so when he plays Yogg he dies from a spell cast at himself or ends up dieing to fatigue due to being milled by Yogg.

I don’t see Yogg as being competitive, he’s a fun card even in his old form, people play him for that reason not because he is overpowered. It certainly wouldn’t break the wild meta.

Again I’m asking for them to revert the nerf and keep him in wild, not return him back to standard.

Those are complete decks though. Your defeat is a result of what happened in the previous turns . The problem with pre-nerf Yogg was that it made the previous turns feel largely irrelevant. You also didn’t need a deck specifically for Yogg. Any deck with enough spells added Yogg as a hail Mary. Not as a win condition. Not as a defensive card. It was simply there as a desperate attempt at getting out of an unwinnable situation. It got people out of those situations often as well due to sheer luck, making it feel very unfair. So I don’t think the comparison with full decks really stands here…
